In order to perform a desirable and positive outcomes in counseling sessions, school counselors are equipped with both theoretical knowledge and practical experience. Besides formal paper qualification from qualified university, school counselors are also required to undergo a practicum and/or internship during their study. They will be monitored by an on-site and off-site supervisors. Apart from paper qualification and experience in managing and conducting the counseling sessions and tasks related to counseling, a school counselor’s self-efficacy on how he or she perceives and believes in his or her ability to perform such duties is important and crucial. Would a counselor self-efficacy be sufficient to counsel a client successfully and lead to a greater job satisfaction among school counselors? Are the school counselors who are responsible to provide emotional and psychological services to the student, feel satisfied, committed to their organization and happily employed? Throughout the years, with the frequent changes in their job description and responsibilities, are the school counselors being assessed in term: job satisfaction, commitment to the organization, and career advancement outside their current organization? The sense of self-efficacy will also influence the school counselors’ career exploration tenancy (Nasta, 2007).
