1. Computer Errors
1a. What is an error?
In the computer world, another word for an error is “corruption. These corruptions happen when data, going from one source to another, is changed. [1] To understand the importance of this change, a more in-depth understanding is needed. Computers speak in their very own language called machine code or binary. This language is a stream of “1’s” and “0’s” is what every operation on every computer in the world depends on to operate. Since nothing in this world is perfect, errors are an eventuality. These errors manifest in the form of something called a “bit error.” [1] A bit error can most simply be explained as a “swapping” of a “0” to a “1” or vice versa. Something as simple as changing the

b. Identify any potential issues in the system in which a mistake could be made.
Minimal Error Could Mean Big Loss: When things go wrong with the system, large amounts of data or information can be lost. This can become a problem if not handled in a timely manner. Clients information is considered sensitive and if lost can be hard to retrieve.
1.0 IntroductionIn this report I will be concentrating on the failure of software systems. To understand why software systems fail we need to understand what are software systems. Software systems are a type of information system. This is because a software system is basically a means for hardware to process information. Flynn’s definition of an information system is:"An information system provides procedures to record and make available information, concerning part of an organization, to assist organization-related activities."Humans have been processing information manually for thousands of years, but with the vast increase of demand for knowledge this century has meant that a new method of information processing has been needed. Software systems have provided a new means that is much faster and efficient.
In the systems approach to error prevention, barriers play an important part. These barriers whether they a...

...iety as a whole is very dependent on computers weather it’s playing games, chatting online, shopping, emailing family and friends or emailing a coworker the next aisle over. Many business are so dependent on computers that they are now storing all their information on their computers hard drive and not giving thought if the computer crash. Many department stores are now computer based and do not have any other way to check out a customer if their system go down I remember waiting in line and the store’s computer went many customers left stating they didn’t not want to wait for the system to come back up because of the dependency of computers the store lost many potential customers. Computers are not bad to have and use but to be dependent may not be so good and if a business is dependent on a computer it may want to have a backup system just in case of an emergency.
The rapid development of information systems and technology brings some positive effects to individuals. In order to use information systems effectively, individuals need to acquire skills and knowledge on using different computer technology. Take an example of an individual working in a project on market research, he needs to learn the way to use spreadsheets for analysing the data. The new knowledge acquired by the individuals will lead to upskilling effect. The innovation of technology brings a lot more new channels of communication, such as e-mail and instant messaging applications, it increases interaction between individuals. The barriers of location is eliminated by technology, people can communicate with one another in anywhere around the world through Internet. The integration of a variety of information systems into business operations is necessary for growth in the dynamic business environment. These information systems can be minimized and fixed into mobile devices such as smartphones. The use of smartphones can play an important role in supporting business processes and operations, developing strategies for competitive advantage and decision making. These smartphones allow employees to be linked to the office, its data and resources, without being in the office. The use of smartphones for business processes can make the business more efficient and effective. They make it easier for co-workers to communicate among themselves and facilitates better communication between the business and its employees, customers, suppliers and even other businesses, and makes it possible in real-time. For CPS Energy and Lloyd’s Construction, although they were doing well, they realised that they could do much better. They needed to find new ways to further cut costs and maximize profitability. They both decided that the best way to do that was through the introduction of smartphones in their business operation.
Advances in technology have changed businesses dramatically, in particular the communication and information technology that are conducted in firms, which changed the appearance and pace of businesses over the past few decades. ICT in particular, has evolved a lot over the past 30 years; important information can be stored in computers rather than being in drawers enabling information to be transferred at a greater volume and speed (Guy, 2009). ICT has also expanded various forms of telecommunications and workload conducted in businesses, internet examples of this include: e-mails can be used to communicate with others...
