The healthcare community has been emphasizing the importance of healthy living style and promoted variety community level health care services to prevent chronic disease prevalence. Obesity is identified to be one of the major causes of health issue such as heart disease, type 2 diabetes, and cancer. Centers for disease control and prevention reports 34.9% of United States adults are considered obese (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, 2015). Moreover, it has been proven that the medical cost is higher for obese people. Therefore, collaborative effort between local-community, employer, schools, and healthcare services become imperative to prevent and reduce the chronic disease. Therefore, collaboration with local health care facilities may advance the current health benefit program. Additional bio screening and vaccination program can be offered to employees and family during the health fair so that employees do not need to take additional time off from work to receive the routine health services. Prevention of communicable disease such as flu provides greater incentive for the organization and community. Various cities and health care providers offer diverse health promotion activities such as walking program or community health fair. Collaborating with local community and hospitals to organize community health fair and walking events would stipulate greater level of interdisciplinary services to the community and employees. An employer can offer incentives to employees to contribute in these programs by participating in these events during working hours to provide volunteer services and jointly participate in the walking program with family and friends. It also offers the psychological benefits to the employees whose self-esteem may be increased and gain gratification by volunteering and provide help in the community. Moreover, active employee engagement is critical for the success of the wellness program. Financial incentives might be necessary to encourage the participation in the employees and community. Additionally, sponsoring and developing farmers market would deliver great incentives to the community and employees to gain access to the fresh and healthy food
