Introduction I have a question, on a scale of one-to-ten how much do you value yourself? Okay, now on the same scale what’s the quality of your health? Though these questions seem quite different, they are asking the same thing. In today’s world, many of us fail to look at the reality of our lives. How can one truly value himself, if they do not take the proper precautions to sustain their health - the largest factor of physical life? Making simple changes in specific areas of your health such as your fluid/water intake, as well as your blood pressure can positively affect your life value. Blood pressure is an extremely serious issue; a number of ailments can result from prolonged periods or chronic high blood pressure, including aneurysms, heart failure and heart attacks, strokes, dementia, and kidney failure (High Blood Pressure, 2016). Common preventive measures are to make healthier food choices, living a more physically engaged lifestyle, losing excess weight, and taking prescription medications that may help to lower blood pressure. The benefits of establishing and maintaining a healthy blood pressure are decreasing the risk of heart-related illnesses as well as various other body ailments, and being able to live an enjoyable life.
