To me a close friendship is one that knows you on the deepest level just as Aristotle says. It takes time to know a person and it doesn’t just happen over night. A close friendship would be an individual that is there for you when you need them whether it is for good things or bad things. For example, my close friend and I have known each other for ten years and she’s probably the trust worthy, and most of all they accept you even with all the flaws that I have. A close friend to me is someone I can trust, someone I can go to when I need their advice and I know they’re going to give me an honest opinion. I believe in order for a close friendship to start you both have to have something in common, and from there you share each other interests. A close friend is someone who stands by the others side and any given time regardless of the circumstances. People in today’s society search to find that close bond that will ultimately last till the end. Unfortunately, a true close friendship isn’t something …show more content…

A friendship is a bond shared with another person, typically of common interests. A friend is honest, loyal, faithful, and trustworthy. It's someone you can share secrets, memories, fears, and dreams with. They stand by you despite arguments or disputes that might arise. Friendships can bring joy, as well as pain; friends want the best for each other, and sometimes sacrifices must be made. In Of Mice and Men, John Steinbeck speaks of the advantages and pitfalls to a friendship.
Friendships can be maintained through mediation between friends who are temporarily separated. However, it is established that, according to Cocking and Matthews (2000), purely mediated close friendships are impossible. The internet presents structural impediments to the formation of exclusively online close friendships as they inhibit an essential feature of close friendship, this being relational identity. The internet allows an individual to choose their identity rather than being forced into non-voluntary self-disclosure. Individuals are capable of distorting filters onto themselves that are normally revealed to friends in an offline encounter and when the relationship is online, the crucial mutual interpretation and shaping of
In the best –selling novel the Maze Runner, James Dashner has developed many meaningful and complex themes. From all these various themes, I believe the main motive and message of the story is how friendship can help us pass the hurdles and obstacles in life and help us achieve success. The novel, the Maze Runner displays tremendous amounts of friendship and strong bonds between characters in the society. The novel written by James Dashner demonstrates the importance of friendship in life. In the Maze Runner strong bonds and exceptional friendship were created in many events, but the relation between Chuck and Thomas, the bond between Teresa and Thomas and the relations amongst all the Gladers working together showed a really deep meaning of companionship. These relationships are what allowed them to collectively pass the hard obstacles in their way and obtain their ambition.

Friendship. Such a word that has more than one definition to many different people. However, to Merriam-Webster, it simply means a state of being friends. But, not to me. Friendship, in my definition, is that one person who I think of when I need comfort the most, a person who would never leave me even when I want to be alone. Friendship is that one person who I can pour my heart out and not fear of being judged for it. Friendship, to me, is the reason why I am still genuinely happy in this stressful life.
My personal definition of "friendship" is a feeling or emotion expressed in such a way that another feels wanted and important, a relationship between a person or persons where everyone has some companion to talk to when their in need of one. I would define friends as people whom you can have several types of relations with and feel several emotions for that person. Someone that one might go to in time of need. However, friendships differ between people. For example, the friendship that someone may have between them and their parents would be different than the friendship they might have with someone their age. There are many different friendships that people have. Friendships can exist between best friends, friends, lovers, children, parents, siblings, and many more. All of these differ in some way.
Has technology changed the way we make friends? Today’s society is known as the Informational age, and this is because technology has allowed the people to grasp onto certain information with a push of a button. However, it’s not only information that people are grasping on to, but it is also friendships. Friendships and acquaintanceships in the past were made by communicating in person; however, technology has interfered with our communication skills. The concept of “friend” in today’s social networking world is considered deleterious based on the elements such as cyberbullying, antisocial behaviors, and hyper-connectivity of technology.
Having a close friend to me is so important. It’s nice being able to call someone to hang out like to get food at your favorite restaurant or calling someone to have to just drive around town because you have nothing else to do. But, there’s more things than just having a “friend”. People think that a friend fits all definition of a bond, but there’s plenty of more ways to describe it.
What is a friend? According to Merriam-Webster Dictionary, “One attached to another by affection or esteem; a person who has a strong liking for and trust in another.” This interpretation of a friend is superb. A true friend is trustworthy, loyal, and honest. This term is unique because the individual labeled as a friend hold a noteworthy status in someone’s heart. The emotions and personal regard for this individual, move someone to establish a long-lasting relationship. A friend is not a foe or nemesis. Someone who constantly causes turmoil and make oneself feel unworthy, is no friend. Distancing oneself from this association is wise. The role of a friend is vital in every person’s life. No one can survive this chaotic world without a companion
Friendships are based on a completely different set of structural relationships to those with parents. They are more symmetrical and involve sharing and exchange. Friendships are important to young children but there is a change at the beginning of adolescence -- a move to intimacy that includes the development of a more exclusive focus, a willingness to talk about oneself and to share problems and advice. Friends tell one another just about everything that is going on in each other's lives... Friends literally reason together in order to organise experience and to define themselves as persons.
There is no real definition of friendship, because there’s no one way you can define it. Friendships can mean many different things, depending on the person. Friendship to you may be your boyfriend or your mom. To someone else it may be their cousin or someone they met on at school. It can take you a long time to consider someone your friend. Maybe you have to get to know them before you become their friend. Some people have had very bad experiences with friendships and may be scared to become friends with someone to fast. So it may take some time for some people to make friends. Maybe you can become friends with someone a couple of day after ya’ll meet. You may be one of the people who have never had any problems with friends, so you trust people more. Are maybe your someone who’s scared of being alone so you need friends there to help you cope with your fear.
Years ago, when I was a child me and my father had a hard time bonding. My dad bought me a basketball because basketball, a while back, was his favorite sport. The basketball finally helped me and my father bond and the ball helped me develop most of my friendships. The basketball showed me that the best friends you can possibly have are friends you share interests with.

Friends, they are great to have. Especially when you are going through rough times or even when you're at the highest point in your life. Overall, they are a great support system and good to have. But, not all friendships are healthy to be in.. That is where my story comes in. I was in first grade and met a girl, not naming names. Anyways, we hit it off really well. We became the best of friends. We did everything together, and when I say everything we did just about everything together. It was sort of like we were the same person. We were each others backbones when times were to get rough for one another, and we were there to celebrate when something good has happened. But, with some good times also comes with bad times as well.
