The impact of climate change:
Climate change is a global phenomenon, and its impacts have been witnessed in different areas in the world. The change in climate can be monitored through a number of aspects:
1- An increase in the temperature mean: In 2010, the world witnessed the warmest year since 1800, 19 countries have set new rise in the national temperature, among these 19 countries, five were Arab countries. The temperature in Kuwait during this year reached 52.6°C, then rose again to reach 53.5°C in 2011. Morocco and Mauritania are expecting a temperature increase by 5°C by the end of this century. In Syria, the rainfall is expected to decline by more than 20% over the next 50-70 years. In addition, rainfall in Morocco has declined by about 40% in spring since 1960, and Djibouti is experiencing less rainfall by 80% since 2007 . Given a fact that 74.5% of temporary crops areas, and about 59.6% of permanent crops areas in Arab countries are rainfed (table ), any decrease in the amount of rainfall will definitely affect the agricultural production in the region. On the other hand, the severe increase in the level of rainfall can cause floods, and leads to catastrophic consequences.

5- Rise in the sea level: Rise in the sea level is a globally expected phenomenon. Levels of oceans and seas are globally monitored through satellites. Since 1870 to 2013, total rise in the sea level is approximately 18 centimetres. Meanwhile, coastal areas in Arab countries are threatened by the rise in the sea level, this includes Alexandria in Egypt. Studies have expected rise in the sea level by 0.5 to one metre in the next century, this rise is expected to flood 30% of the city, which will definitely cause damages to humans, buildings, and the agricultural land through salinization .
