Introduction There has been a revival of immigration in the United States. Approximately, 41.3 million immigrants reside in the United States, about 13 percent of the entire American population in 2013 (Zong). Immigration influences the attitudes of Americans in a positive way because the large number of immigrants has led to advantageous changes in how the United States economy worked. It has modified economic opportunities for natives and the United States was also affected financially, in relation to their expenses and how they dealt with the immigrants through certain laws. U.S.-born workers also have the potential to benefit from bringing undocumented workers out of the shadows. Better job matches for immigrants also lead to increased productivity for native workers by allowing them to specialize in the tasks best suited to their abilities as well. And incorporating undocumented workers into the mainstream economy, with the protections that it affords and the taxpaying that it obligates, protects American workers from unfair competition.” The natives are benefitting from immigration because the productivity of natives increases, and by getting undocumented worker involved the economy, the Americans workers are protected from other competition for jobs. This can translate into high paying jobs for immigrants and would prove beneficial to America and provide a positive attitude towards immigrants. Conclusion The main reason for the optimistic attitude of Americans towards immigrants is that they are the reason as to why many Americans are employed. The immigrants have created many jobs and the economy of America has increased because of the new jobs and sources of income which, after invested and used in agricultural industries, has made the United States more abundant. Likewise, the United States, after passing laws such as the DREAM Act, has also grown productively, from the large sums of money that derived from it. Because it is proving to be beneficial to Americans, the arrival of newcomers should be left alone unless implementing positive actions towards it. One way of doing so is welcoming more people to the U.S. and providing citizenship to those who are here illegally. Doing so will provide more jobs, allow more people to come out of unemployment, and lead to a better overall economy for the United States. Thus immigration should be accepted and in the hopes that America can still serve as a role model for other countries
