The purpose in constructing this report is to take a look and study the illegal steroid use in Major League Baseball, and possible ways it can be exempt from the game forever. Use of performance enhancing drugs is cheating and causes inequalities, in which new repercussions should be implemented. These new rules should include a zero tolerance level, records stripped and not being rewarded of their accomplishments; which is to include banishment from an admittance into the Hall of Fame. Furthermore, it causes major health concerns and could end a player’s career, along with mitigating health problems down the road. The total elimination of steroids in MLB (Major League Baseball) would make the atmosphere and fans appreciate the game as it has long been remembered.
Background
The current use with steroids in MLB (Major League Baseball) is a continued problem since being banned for over 20 years. The use of testosterone enhancers and human growth hormones in baseball have shown unfair playing grounds for athletes who play fair. When banned in 1991, these drugs were continually used, because they did not officially test the athletes until 2003. Steroids plateaued through the mid 2000’s when initially banned, but are on the rise again with advancements in technology/testing. With the big names including Mark McGuire, Sami Sosa, and Barry Bonds breaking homerun records in the late 90’s, the league decided to act upon and somehow take action against these “cheaters.” In a sense, how could someone who uses supplements to enhance their playing abilities be considered to be part of the Hall of Fame or looked upon as a legend.
Statement of Problem
With illegal supplement use continually abused and on the rise again, the n...

Steroids in Major League Baseball Anabolic steroids have been abused by Major League Baseball players for years, it’s time to forever ban the use of Performance Enhancing Drugs before they ruin America’s past time. Why should athletes be able to cheat when teammates or rivals are competing with honest effort? Every year records are broken and new heights are achieved, the game of baseball is very simple yet very humble, and to deceive the game you love, forever will you be punished. Let me inform
2014 Steroids in Baseball Steroids in Baseball has always been a big controversy and brought up a bunch of talk about its use. Most everyone’s opinion on the use of performance enhancing drugs in all sports let alone baseball have all been negative towards it. It gives certain athletes unfair advantages over others to help their team wins games and break records. The game will never become fair if the use of steroids is continued and is working on being stopped in the MLB with new steroid testing
in sports. It not only deteriorates the honesty of the game, but also can have broader social affects that one may not even realize. The use of performance enhancing drugs is especially apparent in Major League Baseball. This problem can be traced back to the 1980’s when baseball was facing one of its first “dark periods”. During the 1980’s Major League Baseball was experiencing a home run drought. Home run totals were down as far as they had been since Babe Ruth, and fans were seemingly becoming
Why should steroids not be allowed in Major League Baseball? That seems to be the question that is plaguing the so called, "America's pastime." The MLB is not the only sports league having a problem with this issue, but it seems that most of the time a player is caught using steroids; he is associated with the Major Leagues. This was very intriguing for me because baseball is both my father's and my favorite sport. I grew up watching baseball with him almost every single night and now that the game
pitcher for his high school baseball team. His baseball coach told him that if he wanted to be an all-star player, he would have to get bigger. (Ingram) Taylor decided to take steroids orally and by injection at the same time, to get bigger. During the winter of 2003 Taylor gained 30 pounds of muscle. (Ingram) Taylor’s attitude took a dramatic turn. He started punching through walls when angry and yelling at his closest friends. (Ingram) When he decided to stop using steroids he became severely depressed

These drugs are illegal and have been since 1991. Although there is a fairly long list of players that have been suspended due to using the drugs. The
Hall of Shame Baseball has always been known as “America’s Favorite Pastime”. Over the past decade, the game America knows and loves has been exposed as a game full of cheaters. Major League Baseball(MLB) has had over one hundred players test positive for performance-enhancing substances over the past fifteen years. Performance-enhancing substances increase a player’s ability to produce better stats to help his salary. The past fifteen years of baseball have contained dirty play by some of the best
These outstanding Major League Baseball players deservedly earned their spot in baseball’s Hall of Fame. Hank Aaron held the league’s home run record with 755 for 33 years, until it was broken by Barry Bonds at the height of the steroid era (Andy). Aaron has never been accused of steroid use; however, Bonds has. Nolan Ryan can be found at the top of the all-time strikeout list, but Roger Clemens is not far behind. Once again, the former has never been proven to have been on steroids, while the latter

Steroids have become a huge part of baseball since the 1990’s. players feel like they need to use them to stay competitive. Steroids help increase
Anabolic steroid use in professional sports The first case of performance enhancing drugs in sports came before the discovery of anabolic steroids and is believed to be that of a British road bicycle racer named Arthur Linton. At the age of twenty four, he died during a race between Bordeaux and Paris in 1886. Controversy then soon arose when he was believed to have taken a stimulant called trimethyl at the time of his death. Anabolic steroids have become an epidemic amongst athletes since the
moment. Picture you are a little kid on a baseball field playing the sport you love. Now picture twenty years beyond that point, you are in the major leagues and you are the best. It is a tight race in the Most Valuable Player award race and you lose by just a few votes. Come to find out the person you lost to is taking an illegal banned substance connected with HGH. You had the award you had been working for and dreaming of receiving stolen away from you. Steroids and HGH have ruined how many see the
Use of Steroids in Baseball Since Major League Baseball all-star Ken Caminiti openly admitted to Sports Illustrated to have used steroids during his career, steroid use as a muscle and performance enhancer has been uncovered and become a big issue Major League Baseball is wrestling with. The “ongoing and delicate subject, baseball’s dirty, little secret that is no secret anymore,” is a huge and growing problem (Curry B20). Now that light has been shed on the issue, critics are beginning to realize
