The ideas of freedom and good are closely related. Freedom is the idea of being free or at peace instead of being trapped or unable to live as you choose. Good is something that is right or proper. Without the concept of good, there would not be freedom, a fundamental, universal right.
There are many good things in life that make life “good”. For instance, equality, is extremely important. Whether it be about race, sex, religion or age, all people have the right to be equal. If capable of doing the job correctly, they must receive the same wage as others doing what they are doing. As stated in The Universal Declaration of Human Rights, “Everyone has the right to life, liberty, and security of person.”
While it does not directly state that this article refers to race, articles four and five in the Declaration also mention that slavery or any kind of torture is wrong and should be prohibited. Often times in the United States, this has not been followed. Slavery was, of course, abolished in 1865. Although in words, all Americans are equal, this is not always the case. Because humans have free will, it is accepted that they may make mistakes along the way. The average person can handle free will. They know the difference from right and wrong and generally choose to do the right thing in tough situations. On the other hand, there is a lot of bad people in the world today and in the past. People who try and hurt others on purpose for no reason do not deserve the freedom given to them. Bullies in schools, for example, are given free will. Once they begin to act out and harm their peers, teachers begin to watch closely and slowly take away their freedom. This system works well through high school, however, once in college, most students do not have the supervision they may need. For this reason, unless, the bully is breaking the law, they are free to do as they please. This is a reason freedom might be considered
