Based on the reading, “The Idea of Ideology” by Lain MacKenzie, explores the key concept on how ideology can shape our social and political world and its effect on these concepts. MacKenzie introduces sub-titles in his article relating to ideology. These sub-titles include, “The History of Ideology”, “Morphology of ideologies”, “Ideologies some key questions” etc. These titles had the most relevant information on ideology. MacKenzie does point out how Ideology is evolving as a whole as he uses many philosophers from older articles and his own research to imply what ideology really means. MacKenzie shows his view of ideology and compared them to the rest of the Philosophers’ definition. This leads to questions arising to understand the key concepts and meanings of ideology. Since ideology is having a major effect on politics due to different ideologies being implemented by the public, many wonder if ideology could be the source of few political problems. This is evident as Mackenzie reveals key questions asked about ideology. An example of this is, “Will there ever be a time when there are no ideologies?” (Lain MacKenzie, (2003). This question shows that ideology could be extinct only if individuals view it as false and allow it to be exposed from one analysis to another which could remove ideology. However if people accept the characteristics of politics ideology will always occur. In relation to this course ideology links to lobbying groups. Lobbying groups are a form of ideology that manipulates government decision in legislation, since lobby groups influence politics this is an example of how ideology plays a significant role in politics as new ideas emerges to create political
