Gun control is an extremely hot-button topic right now in all over the world. The issue is not likely to go away any time soon. Many societies are questioning whether guns really are the helpful tool that many of us have been saying they are, or if they are the killing machines they have recently been publicised as. Over the past decade, recent shootings that have occurred across the country along with the push for law banning or regulating certain types of firearms have all caused many to review the gun control pros and cons that are believed to shape future debate. In this modern era, owning a gun among the people can cause many glitches. One of them is homicide which is broadly seen by the public as one of the most vital hiccups facing our society. According to Hoskin (2011), USA is an outlier in both high levels of gun possession and high rates of homicide compared to other industrialised countries. Homicides are much more likely to involve guns in the USA. In 2009, 67% of slaughters were committed with a gun compared to one-third in Canada. Although critics argue owning a gun can help to ensure our own safety, it is still harmful to society because most violent crimes are perpetrated with guns, the risk of death increases and suicides are higher with gun availability.
First of all, critics argue that owning a gun can defend themselves from villains. The idea is that, if someone breaks into your house or assaults you on the street, you will be able to protect yourself by shooting them. This argument is relevant. However, the argument by the opponents is weak because owning a gun makes us much more likely to get shot. According to the epidemiologists at University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine (2009), in a first-of its-ki...

...accessories. Hence, government plays an important role in preventing the widespread use of guns. Government has the right and responsibility to control firearms, what can and cannot be sold, under what conditions, and to whom. In addition, parents also play an important part in developing safe practices and are ultimately responsible for the behaviour and safety of their children. According to National Rifle Association of America (2012), parents who agree to take the responsibility to practice, learn and impart gun safety rules will make sure their child's safety to a much greater extent than those who do not. There is no specific age to have conversation with the children about gun safety. It is usually more effective to talk openly and honestly about gun safety with the child than just dictating him or her to "Stay out of the gun closet," and leaving it at that.
The closest farmers’ market to New Chinatown is in Echo Park, located approximately 5 minutes away via automobile, near the corner of Sunset Boulevard and Alvarado Boulevard. This market takes place every Friday from 3pm to 8 pm, where on an average day would bring in about 500 customers to this market of twenty stands. On rainy days and unfavorable weather conditions, however, only six stands are present, one of which – called Sweredoski Farms - sells produce. Sweredoski Farms is an urban farm in Bell Gardens that sells fresh, seasonal, and “all-natural” produce. Interestingly, this produce is only grown a mere fifteen minutes’ drive away from where the farmers’ market takes place.
The flavor of Amsterdam Seasonals has abundant. The customers can choose different brands in different seasons.
If you’ve never walked through the farmers market, it is a relatively quiet place underneath the banter between shopkeeper and shopkeeper also when shopkeepers practice their sales pitch to the browsing customers. One can only describe the farmers market as a valley of white plastic tables supporting all the goods people bring. Black canopies provide shade for the network of pedestrians and their valuables, but don’t think it will be cool though; even though it’s an open air market there is a greater humidity which make the fruits more susceptible to the pockets of fruit flies/gnats that linger. Products are brought by merchants from around the island, they bring what they sell and sell what they market, once they’ve sold out or have had enough of the day, they pack up and go home and prepare for the next day’s market. There are nine hours of operation at the farmers market and this is important bec...

The Chinatown neighborhood has many gift stores, cosmetics stores, ice cream stores, and bakery. Printers and bakeries are found in the commercial areas along Wentworth Avenue and Cermak Road” (Encyclopedia of Chicago). Many visitors came to the Chinatown neighborhood to visit the neighborhood and try the Chinese foods because it has the authentic Chinese food in the Chinese restaurants. Since many people came to the Chinatown and consumed in the neighborhood’s shops, the consumption promoted the local commercial development and increasing the economic growth. Therefore, the residents are very happy to have the shops and appeal to the

Guns are an instrument that even the most careful of people could do harm with. Gun owners should go to firearm safety classes so they will be educated on proper handling and storage of the gun. While this should only be voluntary, something should be done to insure that guns are only sold to people who have a safe background and are of age. Congress should mandate the registration of handguns in order to keep criminals from possessing guns, to cut back on violence in the home, and to avoid accidental or intentional violence among children.
The issues of gun control are the subject of much controversy. In the article “The Killer Who Supports Gun Control” by Nicholas D. Kristof (2013), he argues that a strong gun control will yield fewer deaths. Kristof summarizes how the gun itself and the person are responsible for deaths, in order to show how dangerous the combination of the two is.
Guns are not the trouble, people are. The United States is #1 in world gun ownership, and yet is only 28th in the world in gun murders per 100,000 people. The number of unintentional fatalities due to firearms declined by 58 percent between 1991 and 2011 Based on these facts, one can see the guns not the causes of gun violence. moreover, civilians who get permits take gun safety courses and have criminal background...
Today in the United States many people argue over the fact of guns being legal or illegal. There are people using guns for personal safety and there are others who use them for crimes, as well as for other situations. Firearm deaths in the United States have slowly been decreasing from year to year with all these bills getting passed to promote a safer country than ever before. Guns are the main weapon for youth suicide, school shootings, and for committing murder. In 2010 there were 2,711 infants, child, and teenage firearm deaths. As in school shootings and in committing murder, studies show shooters often had multiple, non-automatic guns, shootings were planned, most youth tell before shooting, shooters have a history of being bullied or threatened, shooters have mental issues, and shooters have done suicidal gestures before (Gun Control with School Shootings). Although there are people who use guns for murdering, there are also those who oppose guns being used without the proper requirements. 85% of all respondents to the survey supporting requiring states to report people to national background-checks systems who are prohibited from owning gu...
Will gun control stop harm or protect citizens? Today, the opinions of Americans vary on whether guns harm or protect citizens. However, gun control is not a new controversial issue. In 1924, U.S. Senator, Robert La Follete, said, “Our choice is not merely to support or oppose gun control but to decide who can own which guns under what conditions.” This proves that gun control has been a concern to Americans since the mid- twentieth century, and possibly even earlier than that. Even with the U.S. laws limiting the access of guns, it has not stopped the misuse of guns. Thirteen school shootings have been recorded in the United States within the first six weeks of 2014. Gun control is an effort to stop crimes by limiting who can access guns. Guns are very powerful weapons that have a great impact on society. They can change a family’s life forever. The destruction they cause cannot be reversed or taken back, and one trigger could take a person’s life away. For these reasons, government interference is needed to restrict the harm guns can cause. The U.S. government should place more limitations on guns because of the carelessness and misuse of guns, which has led to an increasing number of crimes and violent actions against the innocent.

With gun sales steadily increasing across the United States, safety becomes a priority with families that have guns in the house. More families now own guns as a means of self-defense. In case of an attempted break in or murder, having a gun in the house can save lives in these types of situation. However, just because you own a gun doesn’t mean you are safe from the power it has. It is a lethal killing machine and sometimes I think this is lost information to many people. Keeping it in a draw or under a bed really isn’t good enough to protect your family from its killing ability. There is a great responsibility that comes with owning a gun that must not be overlooked.
Statistics on the National Safe Kids Campaign Website reveals that “Americans possess nearly 200 million firearms, including 65 million handguns. Approximately one-third of families with children (representing more than 22 million children in 11 million homes) keep at least one gun in the home. Gun owners keep firearms in the home for hunting and recreation (60 percent) or for protection and crime prevention (40 percent)”. Although 40 percent seems to be on the minority, households with guns are at higher risk of homicide, and there are few beneficial effects of gun ownership; as a result, alternative methods for crime prevention and protection should be adopted.
The first benefit when guns are restricted to own is reducing homicides. Gun is one of the best killing weapons; it is created to put an end to the life of the target that it aims at. Therefore, it ...
