HOW THE BEATLES STARTED
Where they got their band name
In Liverpool, 1957 of July, Paul McCartney met John Lennon when they were teenagers. Paul impressed
John with his mastery of accoustic guitar and he was invited by John Lennon to join to his group called
The Quarrymen. Then in February 1958, George Harrison joined the group. In 1959 they played regular
Gigs at the club called The Casbah. They were joined by vocalist Stuart Sutcliffe and by drummer Peter
Best. They were all huge fans of Buddy Holly, whose band was the Crickets (in fact they recorded of a
Number of Holly’s songs). The name Silver Beetles was adopted as a tribute to the Crickets, the second
“e” change into “a” to bring the name in line with their styles then finally shortened to The Beatles. The
group went through several names such as “The Johnny and the Moodogs, “The Silver Beatles”, “The
Beattals”, “The Silver Beattals”, “The Silver Beatles and eventually “The Beatles”. By The time The
Beatles really hit it big in about 1964 the t...

One day in 1957, they got a gig at St. Peters Local Church. Paul McCartney at 16 years old, was a member of the crowd. Ivan the bass player introduced him to John after the show. A few days later paul got the invitation to join the band, but he waited 2 months on joining to seem aloof in the whole idea (Glassman).
The Beatles kept playing and got much better as time went on. They got the attention of record store owner Brian Epstein. In December of 1961, the Beatles met with Brian Epstein to work out a contract. After negotiations a contract was signed and Brian became the manager of the Beatles (Davies 128-129). This jump started their band career; they finally had someone who could represent them in business stuff. Brian whipped the Beatles into a polished band. He got them 40 euros a week for a club in Hamburg. He was put in charge of all the bookings and made sure everyone knew what they were doing (Davies 130). Brian also started negotiations with the recording studio Decca, and got them a demo (Davies 133). The recording demo didn’t work out though. They said Paul and George didn’t play well. John said it was because they were ne...

John Lennon was a famous musician in the mid 1900’s. John’s full name is John Winston Ono Lennon (John Lennon Biography). He was born on October 9, 1940 in England. John died due to a gun shot when he was only 40 years old. He married twice, and had a child with each of his wives. John Lennon was a legend first found with the Beatles, and then he became a very popular solo artist.
The Beatles were a legendary rock and pop group that formed in Liverpool, England in 1960. John Lennon met Paul McCartney in 1957. He invited John to join his music group. George Harrison met Paul in grammar school.Later, they discovered George’s talent of the electric guitar, and he was invited to join Lennon's group, The Quarrymen (News, CBS). George Harrison joined them in February of 1958. Later in time, they started experimenting with different type of music styles. The Beatles became the most popular band of all time (A&E Networks Television).
The end of the Beatles rose as tensions built up during the 1970’s. Paul and John were simply too different in their styles of music writing, and both started to branch their separate ways and create solo albums. It was in the year 1971 that the Beatles officially broke up. The last time the Beatles had played as a full band was in 1971, on top of their recording studio. The band realized that they couldn’t perform any concerts any more, due to their mass popularity, so in a final act of musical talent, they simply went on top of their building without telling anyone, and played music until the police shut them down. And with that, you now understand how the Beatles came to be, and how the legendary quartet rose to what they are today. (“Beatlemania”)
The Beatles was an English rock music band, which was formed in 1960 in Liverpool. Its members were: Paul McCartney, John Lennon, Ringo Starr, and George Harrison. Its members were widely regarded as the most influential act of the era of rock. Rooted in beat, 1950s rock and roll, and skiffle, the Beatles later tried a number of musical genres such as pop ballads, Indian music, hard rock, and psychedelia, while innovatively incorporating classical elements. In the early sixties, their huge popularity emerged as “Beatlemania.” However, as Beatles’ music became more sophisticated, under the leadership of McCartney and Lennon, they were seen as an embodiment of ideals propagated by the counterculture
In the early 60s the beatles popularity emerged as Beatlemania. They built their reputation playing around clubs in liverpool and hamburg. That was for a 3 year period and then there hit “Love Me Do’ took off in the
The Beatles were arguably one of the most commercially successful and critically acclaimed phenomena in popular music history. According to the former Rolling Stone associate editor Robert Greenfield, “In the form of popular music, no one will be more revolutionary, more creative, and more distinctive than the Beatles were” (Whitehead). It is evident that The Beatles have impacted—and continue to impact—society and politics all over the world, especially in the United States during the 1960s. In late 1962, they quickly gained popularity after releasing their first hit, “Love Me Do”, which enkindled the ‘Beatlemania’ frenzy (Charness). Their newfound acclaim allowed them to completely revolutionize the music industry, and with their portraits and album covers appearing everywhere, it wasn’t long before The Beatles revolutionized the fashion industry as well. By the late 1960s, the band had become so world-renowned that they were able to take their influential potential to a new level by inciting movements against societies’ leading issues and promoting recreational drug use and spiritualism.

Even as the culture was changing and preparing the way for the band, The Beatles themselves made changes to enhance their style and cohesiveness. McCartney and Lennon were the main focal point members for the start of the band. They first performed
Before the Beatles were the Beatles, they were just normal musicians. John Lennon the person in charge of the band in the 50’s called the Quarry Men met Paul McCartney on July 6, 1957, where both musicians are performing in Skiffle Groups. After hearing Paul play at the concert John’s manager asked Paul if he would like to join the Quarry Men, Paul accepted his offer. Many musicians tried out to join the Quarry Men, however none of them made it. On February 6, 1958 George Harrison tried out by playing Raunchy and John made him become the newest member of the group. The members of the Quarry Men are; “John, Paul and George, with the addition of Johns Friend from art college, Stu Sutcliffe and a guitarist named Pete Best” (The Beatles pg. 1). They went off to Germany to get a better chance to become known and famous. While they are in Germany, Stu Sutcliffe decides to go back to college to get back into art which he is in love with and be with Astrid which he met in Germany. The members remaining in the Quarry Men group renamed their group and now their group calling it Silver Beatles and returned to Liverpool. As the group thought their luck was terrible, a young record storeowner in the late 1961, with the name of Brian Epstein, noticed the Beatles with their great musicians skills, he thought they have something unique to them (History of The Beatles pg. 1). The Silver Beatles held a tough ima...
The Beatles are an English rock band who originated in Liverpool, England in 1960. They were a huge success locally even before they began to make records in the United Kingdom. The band was comprised of four members: John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, and Ringo Starr. They owe much of their early, quick success to manager Brian Epstein who molded them into a professional act, and producer George Martin who enhanced their musical potential. Early in the 1960’s, their widespread fame in the United Kingdom was first referred to as “Beatlemania”. Eventually, they acquired the nickname “the Fab Four” as Beatlemania grew rapidly in Britain. By 1964, the Fab Four made their way overseas and officially became international pop stars. The Beatles were the leading factor in the “British Invasion” of the United States pop market.
