For many years’ humankind struggled to find an idea-based system to use for spiritual problems. Humans have been socially wrong, lazy, and self pleasing for a long time, so they wanted to put a stop to this. The purpose of this system was to control non heavenly behaviors. Their goal was to inspire guilt therefore a Greek monastic theologian named Evagrius Ponticus started a list. This list had over seven offenses and wicked passions. Gluttony, lust, avarice, sadness, anger, acedia, vainglory, and pride were the sins.
