How I came to find the Green Party is by my ceramic high school teacher. Since, my family rarely spoke about politics, I found conversations with my teacher intriguing when he talk about his view on the world and politics. While attending his class, introduce me to his political party, which is the Green Party. I found the platforms for the Green Party to be agreeable to most of my views, since I am moderately liberal and they are Hard-Core Liberal. Also, I disagreed with the two party system I found myself registering as a member of the Green Party.
The origins of the Green party began in 1984. They were known as the Committees of Correspondence. As time passed, the Committed of Correspondence became centralized and began forming governing bodies and platforms that ranges from protecting the environment to pro-labor agenda to human rights and social justice. By 1990, the party became known as the Green and during this time, division between the party arose over electoral strategies. One of the members, Petra Kelly, found that electoral politics was corrupting and supported the idea of an “anti party party” ("A Brief History of the Green Party"). While, others viewed electoral politics as a needed engine for social change. The struggle over the direction of the organization ended shortly with a compromise, where both strategies would be incorporated within the same political organization, which was renamed the Greens/Green Party USA.
The Green party has ten key values that it follows by: grassroots democracy, social justice and equal opportunity, ecological wisdom, non-violence, decentralization, community-based economics and economics justice, feminism and gender equity, respect for diversity, personal and global responsibilit...

...ct with our equality on sex. In addition, the Green Party strongly favors legally requires hiring women and minorities. If this were to occur we would have a system that would unjustly hire individuals that are not as eligible for the jobs as others. I agree that we currently have a male dominate labor force, but seeing how many women are attending college compare to men. That work force would soon change on it's own regardless of policy.

The political cartoon by Nick Anderson depicts Ralph Nader standing at a podium addressing American society’s “throw away mentality”. Meanwhile a citizen in the background is casting her vote for the green party behind him. Ironically, the ballot drops into a waste basket, thus a wasted vote. We now realize that Nader is not talking about the environment, but addressing the issue of how the general public views votes for 3rd party candidates. This cartoonist feels that we should reform our views on 3rd party candidates and vote for who we think would make the best president, despite there chance of winning or not.
Libertarians often called out the unethical and untrustworthy practices of the government. Most people who supports the Green Party are environmental conscious. The Green Parties supporters are for equality amongst all citizens and non-violence social reform. Both these parties called for a change from the unjust government practices, the representatives tap into the building frustration of its communities. Often casting blame onto the society that governs them. Although very few, we win office. They do caused a big impact on who could win office. Many voters vote for these representatives simply because they are tired with the current state of the nation.

In the United States there are only two main political parties to choose from. The two main parties are the Democrats and the Republicans. There are also many other political parties to choose from which are called third parties. Third parties may include political parties such as the Socialist Equality Party and the Peace and Equality party. People can choose to be a part of any party they want but most go with the common two main parties the Democrats and Republicans. Democrats and Republicans have many similarities and differences. These mainly occur in international, social, economic, and domestic issues.

Political parties have been around since almost the beginning of this great country. Although George Washington strongly opposed political parties, and also warned the nation to stay away from forming political parties, the first political parties were formed right under his own nose. In George Washington’s cabinet was where the first parties started. The cause of these parties was simply differences in views. The thought of leaders of these two completely different parties was Thomas Jefferson and Alexander Hamilton. Jefferson started what then was known of as Republican or the Anti-Federalist. On the other hand Hamilton started what was known of as the Federalist Party. Both of these parties formed in the seventeen hundreds. These two parties have evolved into today being known as the Democratic, and the Republican parties. On the contrary one of the largest third party groups, the tea party was formed just recently in the year two thousand and nine. All three of these political parties effect our government today.
Today, political parties can be seen throughout everyday life, prevalent in various activities such as watching television, or seeing signs beside the road while driving. These everyday occurrences make the knowledge of political parties commonly known, especially as the two opposing political parties: the Republicans and the Democrats. Republican and Democrats have existed for numerous years, predominantly due to pure tradition, and the comfort of the ideas each party presents. For years, the existence of two political parties has dominated the elections of the president, and lower offices such as mayor, or the House of Representatives. Fundamentally, this tradition continues from the very emergence of political parties during the election of 1796, principally between Federalist John Adams and Anti-federalist Thomas Jefferson. Prior to this election people unanimously conformed to the ideas of one man, George Washington, and therefore did not require the need for political parties.1 However, following his presidency the public was divided with opposing opinions, each arguing the best methods to regulate the country. Ultimately, the emergence of different opinions regarding the future of the United States involving the economy, foreign relations, ‘the masses,’ and the interpretation of the Constitution, led to the two political parties of the 1790s and the critical election of 1800.

Firstly, I will begin by identifying my core values. These values can be put into two separate groups. Firstly, there are instrumental values: courageousness, intellectualism, and helpfulness. When considering the myriad of ideals, many others were eliminated
