There is nothing better than the sound of a basketball makes when it swishes in the net, or the feeling of a basketball on your fingertips. Little did i know when i walked on the basketball court, for the first time i would gain a whole new perspective about me and life. The game of the sport will forever change my life for the better. To me basketball isn’t just a sport to me, but an outlet from outside trouble, the struggles, and a place where i can have fun and be stress free. Without basketball i wouldn’t be the person i am today on and off the court. It helped me stay of trouble, kept me focus on my goal, and made me persuade my dreams. Basketball have been apart of my life since i was the age of 5. Ever since that day when my neighbor put that orange round ball in my hands, my life did a big turnaround for me. Starting basketball at a young age caused it to be a huge part of my life. I made an early decision that i wanted to be the best and work hard at it no matter what. Where im from it wasn't all good and friendly in the neighborhood and not many people make it out of Delhi. I always wanted to be one of the people to make it out of Delhi and do the right thing. It was days where the neighborhood would sometimes get hectic. I even had friends that either sold drugs or did them and even went to jail. They would sometimes ask me if i wanted to do certain things with them, but i had say no because i knew what was better for me in the long run. I didn't wanted to do anything that would jeopardize my freedom and put me away from basketball. I do have many great friends and family to support me and could have never made it without them. They always motivated me to be a better person in the classroom and on the basketball
