The Front de liberation du Quebec (FLQ) was created in 1963 by two Quebecois, Raymond Villenueve and Gabriel Hudon and a Belgian, Georges Schooters. The organization was made up of Quebecois separatists who functioned like a professional military, they were mostly active between 1963 until 1970. The FLQ was also influenced by other separatist groups from other countries such as Algeria, Vietnam and Cuba. During the attack in Westmount, Squadron Sergeant Major Walter Leja was severely injured by a mailbox bomb as he was trying to neutralize the bomb. The FLQ was supplied with cash, ammunitions and firearms to conduct their violent actions by two of their associate groups, the Armee de liberation du Quebec (ALQ) and the Armee revolutionnaire du Quebec (ARQ). Both of the groups obtained the supplies through armed robberies which resulted in high number of casualties and economic loss. Between 1963 and 1970, the FLQ had been responsible for over two hundred crimes which included robberies and bombings that occurred in highly populated and important places such as at McGill University, the home of Montreal mayor Jean Drapeau, provincial Department of Labour and in 1969, the FLQ continued their fearsome acts of terrorism when they bombed the Montreal Stock Exchange which caused immense destruction and severely injuring 27 people. 1. The FLQ organizations should be tracked down using all the resources and capabilities available for the Government of Canada and the Government of Quebec. We should form an Anti-Terrorism task forces and send them in a secret mission to hunt down the remaining members of the FLQ and imprison them. Thus, giving the chance to the Government of Canada to publicly announced that they have caught all the remaining members of the FLQ organizations and sentence them to long period of years. The leaders of the FLQ will be executed for their violent methods of action.
Pros- The members of the FLQ will not expect the attack of Anti-Terrorism task force since the FLQ will most likely believe that the Canadian Government has succumb to their demands. Due to the unexpected attacks, the members of the FLQ organizations will scatter in fear and they wont have the opportunity to regroup.
Cons- Since these undercover operations are unknown to the public, the Canadian citizens in Quebec will grow weary and anxious with the current unpredictable situations. Nobody knows when and how the FLQ will launch their next attacks, every citizen will continue to live under constant fear of terrorism. Canadian history consists of many memorable moments, including many great leaders that helped Canada become what it is today, like the well-known Louis St. Laurent. He was born on Feb. 1st, 1882 in Compton, Quebec, and died on July 25, 1973 in Quebec City (Coucil, 13). Louis St. Laurent was raised in a mixed family, with a French - speaking father, and English - speaking Irish mother, and was fluently bilingual. He studied many years in law, where he graduated from law school, at Laval University in 1914, and had been a successful corporation lawyer (“St-Stephen, St. Laurent”). Laurent entered politics a lot later in his years, as he became older; however he still managed to have a large impact on Canada, and achieved many accomplishments. Louis St. Laurent was an extremely important, and well-respected politician, because he helped resolve the conscription crisis from 1940-1944 (,Pickersgill,14), and prevented the government and cabinet from collapsing, which would have caused the society to fall apart at the time, he was involved in the establishment of the Canada Council, which introduced support for Canadian arts, to help Canada separate from the influence of American culture (Jocelyn), and lastly he welcomed Newfoundland into confederation in 1949 (“Newfoundland History”), which was a large accomplishment because of the failures Many other politicians experienced in trying to do so before.

Throughout the history of Canada the indigenous population of the country have been voiceless. They have been both suppressed and oppressed by the Federal and various Provincial governments within Canada. Many organizations tried to provide a voice for the native population but failed in their attempt. These organizations eventually merged together to become what is now known as The Assembly of First Nations. The Assembly of First Nations gives voice to the issues and problems facing the different components of the aboriginal community in Canada.
The root causes of Quebec Separatism go back almost a thousand years! This is because a large cause for Quebec Separatism is the conflict between the French and the English people. These conflicts go back to when France and England first became countries, and ever since then it seems the two countries have been at constant war with one another (Henley, 2011). This constant fighting spawns a built in belief of hatred for one another (Henley, 2011), which would make it hard for the two to live in the same country as they try to do in Canada. But out of all the wars the French and English fought, the most influential for Quebecois and all of Canada was the several year war taking place between 1756 and 1763 (Upper Canada History, 2011).

Evidently, Truscott received financial compensation for the ordeal and the suffering it brought to his life by being awarded $6.5 million from the Government.
