The Extinction of Privacy

This world has changed, even as 20 years old, I am afraid of where technology is going already everyone is glued to it; as a kid computers were new, but we didn’t care we played outside, and cell phones were for emergencies, not fun. Due to technology privacy almost doesn’t exist in this day of technology anymore, there are secret spy cameras being placed in homes by jealous friends or family; social media sites pushing you to spill your age, looks, feelings, life story, and more, and “Big Brother” and “Little Brother” everywhere. Everyone has to be careful because everywhere there is someone trying to steal someone’s identity whether the reason is for money, for legality in a new country, or even to hide a past troubled life. Privacy in the world has been, is now, and always will be extremely important. Growing up in school after getting my first cell phone I was fascinated with new technology and couldn’t wait for the next cell phone to be released. I was always highly interested in what was next, but that was then when I was a young and obvious little kid, now as a young adult in this day of age I have an entirely different feel for all of it; privacy no longer exists and technology is the primary blame. Your identity is unsafe in more places than you may realize. Every store you walk in has the possibility or either having someone behind the counter, or someone hacking into a business from outside, readily waiting to steal your identity. Using your credit card in any store is never safe no matter what signs are posted around the store, or how big the company is; it’s not always the people who work there that want your identity. These monitors have the ability to recognize anything about the human being that it is assigned to. This can all be beneficial to people but these monitors are constantly transmitting this information to a personal cloud or drive wirelessly and as I just spoke about how dangerous Wi-Fi can be and that all this information can be hacked; this is far worse than any other identity theft situation can get. It is not necessarily that there is too much technology in the world it is just that it has gone way too far. Rules are made and meant to be broken, is all that we’re doing in this world with technology just to outsmart the next thief? No matter what as the days pass on the calendar the more advanced we will all become, there is no way of avoiding this but we can now, in the early stages of this technology, start accepting it and learn to keep ourselves safe.
