Public Relation means maintaining a clear and transparent relationship between individual and/or organisation with the public.
Public Relation is the routine of managing and spreading the information of the organisation or individual with the common.
PR also means the organisation gaining more exposure on the public. It learns about the public, the way things work, likes and wants of the public, etc. And vice-versa. Even the public gets to know the organisation or the individual well. It is a two way process, and benefits both the parties. It also creates more transparency and clarity amongst the public and the organisation or the individual.
PR has the objective of creating coverage for the respected client for free.

PR and Advertising frequently go hand in hand. But they are totally different having completely distinguish goals and overall affect. However, together, they are necessary to reach the target market and audience, and accomplish firm’s objectives.
Advertising is a paid form of communication. It is often expensive. Paid announcements to promote goods and services through different types of Medias like, online, print, TV, radio, etc.
Public Relation is a strategic communication process that builds mutually beneficial relationships, between organisations and the people. It helps in building connection with the audience and promoting your (firm’s) objectives/goals, the consumers are more likely to believe in this form of communication, rather than the paid advertisement.

1) Paid or free:
Advertising is a paid form of communication. It only helps the company by spreading the information of the products/services to the people.
PR develops a strategy to freely publicise the company through various media.

Advertising can run for a long period of time, it can be shown as many times as possible (as long as budget allows).
PR has the advantage of publishing stories in different ways. This helps the information reach to the target audience in a more effective and efficient manner.

Advertising which is seen by the consumers, they are aware that you are trying to sell something. They know you are paying for the ad, so they perceive some amount of biasness.
PR on the other hand, goes to the third party who helps to remove the biasness and helps the company to increase credibility to the story, product, or services

5) Target Audiences *
Advertising is done by placing the advertisement directly to the medias that your target audiences are interested in.
PR professionals are able to communicate the message to the target audience through variety of channels. The channels could be a newsletter, letter to local residents, emails to specific people, blog post, etc.
