The Environmental Crises

A major concern of people from all demographics and religions is the environmental crises are taking place in the US and all over the world today. Many aspects our daily lives in the capitalist society we live in are causing grave destruction to our planet. Issues such as global warming, bottling water, and the search for oil and fossil fuels are some of the most known environmental crises taking place in the US. I believe the US could in fact find safe, profitable solutions to many of these problems as long as it is willing to be proactive and address the serious issues at hand while they can be corrected. If the US does not step in and set regulation and new laws on the big businesses and individual citizens that are causing these crises, our environment as a whole will continue to suffer irreversible affects. One of the most serious and publicized environmental crises that is effecting our planet is global warming. Often naïvely brushed off and not recognized by people in charge of businesses that are adding to it, global warming is an extremely real and serious issue. There are serious affects of global warming that are noted by renowned research institutions world wide. Changes in our environment such as “Average temperatures climbing 1.4 degrees Fahrenheit (0.8 degree Celsius) around the world since 1880, much of this in recent decades, according to NASA's Goddard Institute for Space Studies” and “Glaciers and mountain snows are rapidly melting—for example, Montana’s Glacier National Park now has only 27 glaciers, versus 150 in 1910” are proof of this issue already having affects on our planet ( Everyday activities such as driving our cars or turing the heat up in at home are burning fossil fu... ... middle of paper ... ...Fast Facts."
