Today’s leaders are always seeking to improve their communications because they are faced with a multi-generational and diverse population workforce. Organizations that do business abroad should and must acquaint themselves with that country’s cultural practices for an effective collaboration. Therefore, effective leaders must be able to understand a diverse, multi-generational workforce to share a common goal. More importantly, when attempting to understand other cultures, leaders must be cautious not to overgeneralize, avoid stereotypes and misinterpreting differences and similarities (Barrett, 2014). While cross-cultural and global studies are fairly new in the last decades, it is spreading worldwide attention because businesses are done globally.

However, meeting company goals is also made very difficult given the way the world business environment is always changing. It is those major business challenges that continue to hamper the progress and development of firms.
Introduction As the organizations are becoming increasingly global and diverse in nature, leaders must create environment in the organization, which allows cultural mindset to thrive among diverse employees (Smith & Victorson, 2012). Hiring diverse employees is becoming a norm for today’s human resource departments of various organizations for getting the competitive edge in the global market. Diverse employee bring different perspectives and cultural mindset into the workplace. Companies are finding that to survive they must compete in international markets as well as fend off foreign competitors' attempts to gain ground in the United States (de Silva, S., 1997). To meet these challenges, U.S. businesses must develop global markets, keep up with competition from overseas, hire from an international labor pool, and prepare employees for global assignments (Noe-Hollenbeck,-Gerhert-Wright, 2003, p. 46). Employee skills have become important determinants not only of flexibility, efficiency and excellence, but also of employability, investment and the ability to adapt quickly to market changes. For today and tomorrow's employers, talent comes from a global workforce. Organizations with international operations hire at least some of their employees in the foreign countries where they operate.

What is diversity?

A very important factor in the success of a company is the marketing strategies and the marketing personnel that is being used on a daily basis. As the marketplace evolves ever more rapidly, marketers struggle to keep pace. In our marketing department we have started to concentrate more on the issues that have been failing in the past years for us by adjusting our traditional stratagems—redesigning market segmentations, building stronger brands, and hiring new and better marketing managers—are very necessary. Unless these solutions can be mobilized rapidly, we could find ourselves overtaken by our competitors, for a fundamentally different way of organizing companies to exploit opportunity seems to be emerging among many of our growth leaders. You might call us venture-marketing organizations, since like venture capitalists we are quick to spot new possibilities, to allocate resources to the best ones, and to cut our losses as we go.
