John Blighter is a teacher in a school composed completely of special needs students. The typical classroom consists of an average of three to eight students all coming from unstable backgrounds. Teachers may have to deal with physical safety issues, low pay, and high teacher turnover rates. Because of the conditions of the job, people may think that special educator hate their job.
It is generally assumed that special educators do not enjoy their occupation because of hazard. One of the biggest complaints special education teachers have about their profession was the physical danger they potentially faces on a day-to-day basis. Blighter actually states that he was “punched in the face and spat on”, and as a result required medical treatment that included stitches. No educator should have to be under the constant threat of physical danger while performing their job. Some teachers believe if there was improved security and resource staff, then student behavioral problems would decrease. It is suggested that the school should hire approximately twice as many security guards than they currently have. This in turn would give the students the stable environment that they need and would ultimately help them receive a better education.
It is also generally assumed by the population that special education teachers do not like their job because they may be underpaid. Because of the physical demands and elevated stress levels associated with this job, special education teachers should receive a much higher yearly salary. If special education teachers are underpaid then they would often find it difficult to make ends meet and pay for basic necessities. If special educators wanted to raise a family of their own, it would be difficult to ...

...ate about helping other people than ever. Seeing students going through such hardships makes educators realize that everyone in the world should be helping someone else in order to make everyone’s life just a little bit easier. It is recommended that new teachers enter this occupation with “an open mind and an open heart” in order to enjoy their jobs as much as Blighter does. It takes a lot of love and patience to enjoy this career.

regards to inclusive education in Mainstream school. At the start of this century, six special schools were completed being Eden School, Fernvale Gardens School, Pathlight School, Rainbow Centre – Yishun Park, St. Andrew’s Autism School and Woodlands Garden School. Since the starting of Pathlight School in January 2004, there has been an increase in the awareness of the public on Special Education. Before that, children with special needs are already inclusive in our mainstream schools. But many people
School… the one word that reeked of hate when pierced through Carrie’s ears . In order to convey her full graveness, Carrie would cry, fight, and scream till her parents would finally give in and allow her to stay home. The human right to education that Carrie was born with, was not an option for her. On the other hand, Alan, a bright 10 year old boy, did so well in his public school that many of his classmates didn’t know the most crucial item of his being. While Carrie and Alan seem very different
with some form of special needs, there is an increased need for properly trained special-education teachers. They, however, have become difficult to find. The education field has begun to see a drastic shortage in special-education teachers, resulting in positions being filled by those with less than ideal qualifications. This puts the most vulnerable students at risk of not receiving the help and sometimes extensive assistance they need in order to learn and grow in their education. From fast-track
The class room sizes in schools today are very cramped and over populated. Teachers have more students than they can teach, making it hard to give any kind of one on one attention. There is an increased need for educational professionals, all teaching fields are experiencing a need for more teachers, and each type of educator possesses different teaching skills, and are on different ends of the pay scale depending on their teaching specialty. Preschool teachers are becoming more and more sought after
Special education is such a broad and sensitive topic to talk about as well as the several issues that come with the Special education topic. And although there are a variety of issues, such as: special education children being accepted, segregated from their peers, the financial ability to support many special education programs, and the fact that a lot of teachers are not properly certified and do not know how to handle special needs children; there are also many resolutions. Special education
Teaching resources are adequate and resources were provided by the school management as per teachers need. All the teachers agree that they have been given access to resources and multimedia technology was accessible. However teachers agreed that the main challenges they come across is the lack of teacher training. All the teachers are trained primary teachers but except one, all the teachers were unfamiliar with inclusive education. Teachers know the conditions of the students but they have been unable
should not be practiced in today’s school systems. General Education teachers feel they do not have the experience or qualification to teach students with special needs. While there are specific degrees for teaching special education, general education teachers are required to take a very limited number of special education courses in order to obtain their degree. To gain a clearer understanding of this argument, I recently spoke with a professor in the education department at a university in Ohio
It’s important that a principal understands the requirements of the special education law and policies. Failure to meet the requirements of special education law and policies could lead to a school losing federal funding and a principal or other administrator to lose their job or be demoted. After working in the childcare profession for over ten years, teaching preschoolers, I was presented with the opportunity to go to work at a local elementary school. The class I was assigned to was for children with mild to moderate disabilities, assisting them with the academics and the social support needed to function in a general education setting. This was a life changing opportunity for me. As I sat in awe for the first few weeks, watching my new co-workers help these children with love, patents

I posed this question prior to my research; do special education students receive the same attention and level of education as students in regular education? Through investigation and observation, I explored the differences between regular education classrooms and special education classrooms to see if there were in fact inequalities between the two. Prior to doing research, I assumed that all education was alike, and that regardless of special needs, the educational institution provided an equal
