We are living modern times where the technology and the globalization has change many things not only on the business markets, but on every single home around the world. Being a parent has never been easy; a kid doesn’t bring instruction manuals, but is a process that develops with time. Kids, for their nature, were always running around adventuring day by day with games that were taught by the parents or grandparents, which has been lost through time. There comes the new gadget for parents to bring to their homes, the computers, initially to make their life easier at homework time. As the world of technology develop, every house needed to have computers and internet for their children, not thinking about what kind of control this would have over their lives. Parents are thinking that they are covering all the basics of being a good parent. Today the teens are always connected to social networks for fun or socializing. For the parents is the greatest babysitter or tutor around (Gallo, C 2011).

The technology has evolved to developed many things that makes life more easily and at the same times it has created a new generation of kids, teens and adults. It is important that parents become aware of the nature of social networks. In many cases, parents seek to provide their children the best entertainment and whatever there is for teens to stay popular. Social networks, even if they are helpful for studies, are also good to have communication to people around the world, lecture and entertainment. The social networks also have their negative side. Sadly, there is to be seen children leaving the green areas of playground all deserted because they are all connected to cellular phones, IPad, tablets or laptops. Kids are forgetting to get in contact to nature or even more, real friends. Then, what effects have teens to be sailing in social networks without any supervision?

Teenagers usually spend sleepless night on social media without the knowledge of their parents. To be connected throughout the night, the teen could suffer from insomnia, moodiness and problems with studies, obesity and deconcentration. In some cases there is a very big difficulty in teenagers who have become addicted to sites such as Facebook, Twitter or other social networks. Parents don’t want to interfere in their children’s social lives, because it has become some sort of code between parents, children or other family members.
