Sometimes I slack off because I feel my bed has never felt more comfortable as I eat junk food and watch Netflix. But, I have learned however that going to the gym and being active, can help lower my anxiety. So I try and go every day, and advise my friends and fellow peers to do the same if they are feeling stressed out or anxious over a certain situation. When exercising your body, “ produces endorphins—chemicals in the brain that act as natural painkillers—and also improve the ability to sleep, which in turn reduces stress” (Physical Activity Reduces Stress). Studies have even suggested that taking a 10-minute walk can help alleviate anxiety, much like taking an aspirin for a headache. By exercising on a regular basis it allows many an outlet or a way to cope with the stress, and anxiety one may have. I personally have experienced a great amount of relief when I choose to go to the gym, take a run, or even a walk with my dog.
