This paper discusses how conformity can effect a large number of individuals and this is an important topic because conformity is a social concept that effects people in everyday life, yet many don 't take notice of what is going on. It is important to know how conformity has been incorporated into our daily lives, in order to later notice the effects conformity has on the individual. For this experiment the hypothesis we tested was that people were more likely to conform to a larger group of people than a smaller group of people to stop and see what was going with the entertainment being provided by an artist. They predicted that individuals would be more inclined to certain objects, when the object was gazed at more by a number of people even without any type of expression, than one single individual gazing at the object. There were 25 participants used for this study with 19 females and six males. The participants ranged from 19 to 26 years old and with average of 20.7 years of age. No ethnicity was take and most of the participants reported normal or close to normal vision. Participants were put through four section sessions where they were to categorize the 14 objects into kitchen or garage items taking about 1 minute to respond. The fifth section session, participants were asked to rate their preference for the object they had just categorized. After collecting the data, they determined that gaze cueing, when the attention of an individual is towards a certain object, affected people’s preference of objects. However, their pattern of results determined that while a single person can have some affect on another person toward liking an object it doesn 't have the same influence as multiple faces having a positive look towards the object.
