Every day, alarming amounts of toxins are released into the atmosphere. Over the recent years global climate change, better known as “global warming” has become a worldwide problem facing our planet, and as the world becomes continuously warmer, the effects that climate change will pose to our planet and to the people who live on this earth, will be detrimental.
Climate change is a natural process, but because of increases in certain human activities this process is taking a faster and more dangerous route, ruining our earth and creating global problems. So what could really be done about this issue? All of these factors are things that drastically reduce the effects of climate change. Also, another great way to engage students in learning about climate change, is to hire guest speakers, such as local scientists, or environmental specialists to come talk to students. It is a great way to get students engaged in learning, and it takes a break from the usual “school work” angle. In addition, for those teachers who are more into lesson plans, various educational and scientific based websites are available to access online, and many of them, such as PBS, NASA, and Camel Climate Change Education, offer step by step lessons for teachers who want to teach inside the classroom.
