The Effects Artificial Intelligence has had on Society and on Business
Until recently, many people thought it unlikely for machines to have human-like abilities. Human-like abilities were generally only attributed to animals, and not machines. However, with technological advancements such as computers, many are beginning to realize the importance and impact such machines have in business. There are virtually no businesses today who do not implement the use of the Internet and networking technologies. The reason is because e-Business has made it more efficient, effective and has saved companies time and money when dealing with their business practices.
It is difficult to assign intelligence to man-made objects, so first we must define and discuss what intelligence actually is. This is a complicated subject, raising questions of consciousness and self. Even intelligent behavioral studies in humans have been difficult and complex to understand. However, one popular early definition put forth by John McCarthy at the Dartmouth Conference in 1956, is, "making a machine behave in ways that would be called intelligent if a human were so behaving" (http://www.answers.com/artificial+intelligence&r=67). This is when the term “artificial intelligence” was first coined. Basically, it is giving a computer a rational mind-set comparable to humans. This raises a whole question: is making artificially intelligent machines ethical? This question will be addressed later in the paper.
Artificial intelligence (AI) can be classified into two categories: strong AI and weak AI. Strong AI involves some form of technology that can reason and solve problems as a human does. Strong AI is then classified into two forms also:

The Walt Disney Company is a multi-billion dollar enterprise that controls and maintains vast interests in various multimedia companies in the United States and around the world. What started as a simple love for children’s entertainment of a sample cartoonist soon became a revolutionary icon in the world of entertainment and business.
Walt Disney began in 1923 with a short film called Alice’s Wonderland. It was co-owned by Walt Disney and his brother Roy Disney. Disney moved forward into the future with very popular filmed entertainment such as Mickey Mouse, Snow White, Pinocchio, Dumbo, Bambi and so many more until the death of Walt Disney in 1966. Walt Disney was then successfully supervised by Walt’s older brother, Roy Disney, until his death in 1971 after the completion of his brother’s dream, Walt Disney World. It was in 1983 that Disney expanded its operations to include the Disney Channel and the Touchstone Pictures film label. When the new president and CEO, Michael Eisner and Frank Wells, came onto the scene they set out to maximize the company’s assets by opening its famous movies up to the TV syndication market and video cassettes. With the classics easily accessible and available at a lower cost the company grew to greater heights. The success continued in 1988 when Disney movies hit new box office heights bringing in more than $100 million. Then between the years of 1989 to 1994 chart toppers like The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, and the Lion King launched the entertainment company to even greater heights. The films were grossing between $200 and $783 million...
In the novel, Mrs. Wilson, a woman of Calvinist religion has taken in her niece Jane after the death of her parents. During one of their first conversations, Mrs. Wilson immediately expresses one of the important guidelines of her household to her niece after she sees she is not as easily swayed as she first thought. “I tell you once for all, I allow no child in my house to know right from wrong: children have no reason, and they ought to be very thankful, when they fall into the ...
As in today’s society we know the word “Hospitality” means to entertain and care for your guest, visitors, or strangers. When a person is treating someone to hospitality they go out there way to make sure that the person or group of people that they are treating is well taken care of and is comfortable. But that is just one way of expressing and showing hospitality, there are many other ways to describe the word to in different types of settings. Like In Homer’s poem The Odyssey Hospitality also known as Xenia is a code that they use where they give soldiers a break from their journeys and get away from troubles. But because of it being so important if this code was broken they would be punished by the Gods.
The Cyclopes are examples in the story that shows how non-hospitably defiant someone can be. They were not nice to most they can in contact with other than someone of their own kind. This is why Odysseus had no respect of them throughout the story. The story broadens as it shows different ways of being hospitable and non-hospitable. “The Odyssey” can relate ...
Walter Disney was the entrepreneur who had the creative skills. Knowing his limitations, he let other people do what he couldn't do good enough himself. This is an important skill, as it leads to quality products being made. The step from making short cartoons to doing full length cartoons and later live-action movie production is quite natural. What is not that natural and straight forward, and at the same time significant to the success of Disney, is the way in which Disney started to integrate vertically when they created the Buena Vista Distribution. The vertical integration along with the horizontal diversification has allowed for the exceptional building and exploitation of the huge synergies that exists in Disney, and which has to be regarded as the main reason for the success of Disney.
The process of mourning will be different for ever individual, the emotions that are felt during this time can range from hate to love. W.H. Auden’s “Funeral Blues” describes the day of someone who is mourning a loved one and experiences feelings such as denial and depression. Emily Dickinson’s “Because I could Not Stop for Death” on the other hand describes the events someone feels as they being to accept death. There are many similarities between these pieces of writings such as the poet’s use of metaphors, imagery, tone and structure. Although these two poems express death in opposite ways they have a common theme which states that death is a part of life. Both of these poems express the different ways that people deal with death; Auden’s poem depicts dark emotions while Dickinson’s tone suggests understanding and acceptance of death.

According to the conceptual framework, the potential users of financial statements are investors, creditors, suppliers, employees, customers, governments and agencies, and the general public (Financial Accounting Standards Board, 2006). The primary users are investors, creditors, and those who advise them. It goes on to define the criteria that make up each potential user, as well as, the limitations of financial reporting. The FASB explicitly states that financial reporting is “but one source of information needed by those who make investment, credit, and similar resource allocation decisions. Users also need to consider pertinent information from other sources, and be aware of the characteristics and limitations of the information in them” (Financial Accounting Standards Board, 2006). With this in mind, it is still particularly difficult to determine whom the financials should be catered towards and what level of prudence is necessary for quality judgment.
There are 3 main products of Walt Disney. Many, including I, have heard this statement a thousand times, “I have so much to do and so little time.” This statement explains what two poets were trying to say through their poems. In the poems, Death Be Not Proud by John Donne, and Because I Could Not Stop for Death by Emily Dickinson, the power that death has over one’s life and the power that one has over death becomes a race for time. Both poems explained death in two different perspectives but both still showed the underlying current that death cannot be stopped. With the use of symbolizations and metaphors, both authors show the power of death.

Walt Disney started the Walt Disney Company with very little to no money and with no connections around Hollywood. He literally had nothing but his creativity and a simple idea. That idea was to create animation and cartoons for the county to enjoy. Walt Disney wasn’t concerned about how much money he made from his cartoons, he just wanted to keep doing what he was compassionate about, to make animation. Walt Disney represents the hard-working, determined American, and a lot can be learned from studying his life. He brought joy, happiness, and a common means of communication to everyone in every country. His visions brought everyone closer to the future, while telling them of the past. Not only did Disney’s dreams come true, but with his works, he touched and made a lot of kids’ dreams come true. Disney was one of a kind and there will never be another Walt
