The Education System
The education system in my country is different from U.S education; mostly it is similar to France education system. The education system in my country is very restricted and it is not easy to graduate from high school. I have been attending US colleges for almost four years now. I finished high school in my country and never get a chance to attend college in there. In this essay I would like to compare and contrast the differences between my high school education system and US education system. Even though, I never attend high school in US but I have some friends who told me about high school system. One of the differences is that in my country all high school students had to ware school uniform, but in here the high school student they can wear what ever they want. Second, there was no choice for us to take those classes that we want we had to take what was offered, in contrast in US high schools students can take a lest those classes that they like. Third, the exams in my country was pretty the same as US system.
First of all, in my county all high students we had to wear uniform.
We had to wear black skirts, white tops, black shoes and black tights. The good thing about uniform was that it wasn't expensive for parents to get uniform for their children each year, second, it was good for students to concentrate only on there classes and third it was very organized. For instance, in my family three person went to high school and parents bought us uniforms only once a year which was not very expensive, second every day when we waked up we didn't had to worry about what to wear and worrying that we don't have enough clothes.
Therefor, wearing uniform was very good so most of our concentration was on our classes not on clothing. Finally, wearing uniform was very organize when we passed the rode everyone know that we were high school students. In contrast, in America high school students can wear any thing they want and there is no restriction. In my opinion, it is very expensive for parents to prepare different clothes for their children everyday. May be it is no problem for some parents, but in most of the cases like single working parent that has to work full time and have other expenses it is not easy to buy clothes for their children every day. Though there have been many problems raised throughout the years in regard to what our school systems should be teaching our children, there have also been many developments.

The logic here is that usually we have a different uniform for elementary, middle, and high school. Elementary uniform can be found in stores and we can use coupons to reduce the total. However, once we go into a higher grade, the expenses increases. When you go to middle school, you most likely have to choose an academy and academy shirt can only be brought from school. One shirt from a school can cost $10 and your expenses just increased. The average annual cost to parents for the uniform is $249. But, the U.S. annual school uniform sale is $1,300,000,000. Whereas, if we don’t have uniforms, parents can buy clothes that can be worn in school and at home. This way they won’t spend more money. Additionally, a low-income family won’t have to spend all their money on buying their kids uniform and only have to make sure that the attire they get their children is appropriate. Schools using the uniform system are causing problems for low-income families by asking them to provide their children with a uniform. Instead of suspending students from school for not having a uniform, we can simply make it easier for parents by using the dress code system. Throughout my experience in the public school system, I have heard the line, “What do I need to know this for anyway?” about 1,057 times. It is not uncommon to hear students complain about the worth of their education. Regardless, there seems to be a unanimous agreement that the youth needs education to succeed in life. What is education anyway and what does schooling accomplish? In his book, “A Time to Learn” George Wood provides a definition of education as “making wise citizens and good neighbors who can think deeply and intelligently about issues of self and society, take care for and respect others, take care of their family needs, and contribute to the welfare of others” (Glickman 48). Is school necessary for developing this type of educated citizen? If not, how is it we measure success and how is school important in attaining that?
The education system has been a controversial issue among educators. Requirements of school do not let student choose what they want to study for their future. It’s a big issue to force student study specific curriculums, which don’t help them improve, and what they like to create something. Educators choose a general system for education to all students which based on general knowledge. Intelligent or genius students have to be in that system of education, which doesn’t let them improve their creativity. Educators attempt to change that system to make it better, but their changing was not that great to be an example for the world. Also, did that change qualify education system to compete other systems or not? In some examples and reasons have been made me agree with some of points from Gatto’s and Edmunson’s and disagree them.
High school is typically a time when kids begin to distinguish themselves from one another. Students begin to develop their own sense of personal style, desperately trying to both fit in and stand out simultaneously. Being self-conscious and often lacking the confidence needed to assert themselves, teens are forced to use clothing and outward appearance as the means to manifest this individuality. Thus, students should not be forced to wear uniforms to school. Standard uniforms are unproven deterrents to student violence; are a "Band-Aid" to cover up the real problems faced by children and teens; and they violate students' right of self-expression, depriving them of their search for identity.
I know especially in my own school that is one thing kids pick out in others is clothing. “Ew that's so ugly” “omg she wore that yesterday” “does he have any other shirts?” “who would ever even wear that” is some of the things kids say but the problem is that some kids don't have the money to buy a different outfit every day of the week, or be able to shop at high end stores, or even do the wash. But when you bring back in uniforms all the kids would be wearing the same outfits and you wouldn't know if that kid wore that yesterday because he or she could have the same outfit five times.

As of today, people have generally realized that the high school role is very similar to the college role and they both play a large aspect in the generalization of modern day school. Therefore, when a student decides to choose a school, the method is long and very tedious. They acknowledge every class offered and every sport available along with every extracurricular activity. However, a lot may compare and contrast high school with college. The aspects they grasp on people is not a secret and very important. Anyhow, the methods used to educate these students are very similar to each other although the differences are great such as the facilities they occupy and the extracurricular activities each offer. Public schools and private schools handle their schools and curriculums very differently. Public schools do not have any say in the curriculum they are given. The state writes the curriculum and the standards that are meant to be met by the students. Private schools make up their own curriculum and it is up the discretion of the school what the graduation requirements should be.
Kids and teens have the right to pick out what they wear, sure it may take a bit longer, but in the long run it is worth it. Everyone has the right to express themselves freely and by the way they look. It can tell what kind of person they are. Think about it, you go into a school that has uniforms you see everyone wearing the same stuff who is who? What kind of personality could they have, maybe one like being a brick in the wall. Walk into a school without uniforms and you can instantly tell anyone’s personality by what they wear, so they express their emotions through their clothing.

Envision a high school student being tormented by what he is wearing, and this doesn’t happen once, instead it happens frequently. You see him become upset, letting his head face the ground, and somewhere inside of you, you feel the same pain that he is feeling. Students in high school are making rude comments about their peers’ clothing, whether it’s the scarf, the jacket, or the socks; they always have something to say. What better way to fix this situation than to arrange uniforms for high school students? The idea of uniforms should highly be considered in order to allow students to feel more confident while at school.
Everyone has his or her own individuality, things that set them apart. We use it in our clothing choices, as not everyone wears a hat or a jersey every day. "In 1969, the U.S. Supreme Court established students ' right to self-expression through appearance and attire-as long as it doesn 't substantially interfere with "discipline or the rights of others" (Menza 2). School uniforms take that right of expression away. Not everyone likes wearing a blue or red polo and khakis. Sure, most jobs have uniforms these days, but a person has a choice to work there and has no choice about public school. There are also many jobs that do not require uniforms, such as construction workers and retail workers. Just working at a job wearing a uniform does not signify that someone is better than someone else or even smarter. Everyone should be able to grow up and learn from his or her experiences, and that includes dressing his or herself every morning and enjoying that
