The 10th on the other hand, spend most of his time in a anger state so the one life lesson you could get from him was, don't be angry of things you can't change. Thus, allowing the 11th the chance to win this category by not teaching as much life lessons.

Dr. Roger Fife is liked by the Hmong because, in their words, he doesn’t cut. He is not highly regarded by the other doctors for many reasons. I believe Dr. Fife is generally a good doctor I would rate him about a 7 on a scale of 1-10 because he listens to his patients and takes his patients’ culture into consideration, but he does have certain weaknesses that makes him less than desirable to me. I believe he genuinely cares about his patients. He is a doctor that does not force certain medical practices because “it’s their body.” I believe every physician has their strengths and weaknesses. Dr. Fife has good strengths that makes him very well liked in the Hmong community. He builds his Hmong clientele by listening to his patients wants and
Some may argue that Creon does not fit the mold of a tragic hero. They believe this is so because Creon's punishment is not excessive. Perhaps they think that the death of Creon's family members and loss of his kingdom is well deserved due to his wrongdoings. Although it is true that Creon makes a mistake, he is excessively punished even though he isn't directly at fault. This is illustrated when Creon finds out from the messenger that his wife blames him for the death of her and her son. Creon exclaims, “I am nothing. I have no life./ Lead me away.../ That have killed unwittingly/ My son, my wife./ I know not where I should turn,/ Where look for help./ My hands have done amiss, my head is bowed/ With fate too heavy for me” (Sophocles lines 1119-1126). Creon has to agonize in guilt because he knows he is the reason his family members are no longer living. One can agree that this is extremely unfair because he does not intend to lose everyone that is impo...
As a society we place those in the medical profession on a pedestal. They are people to be looked up to and admired. In many ways they are Gods, right here with us on earth. People put the hope and faith in doctors hoping they can perform miracles. Throughout history, doctors have indeed preformed many wonders. There were, however, some doctors that betrayed this belief and peoples trust. These doctors could be found in concentration camps such as Auschwitz and Dachau. These doctors committed unspeakable acts against the Jews and other minorities, believing that they were conducting helpful experiments. Following the holocaust, however, they were punished for their actions.
Patients deserve the full attention of their doctor. (Wilkinson) One of the things that is distracting health care professionals from paying attention to their patients is technology. Physicians can get so caught up with filling out forms and answering calls that they aren’t giving enough time to their patient. (Britt) A harmless solution to this problem is just asking the person to wait a few minutes, so the doctor can finish up what they’re doing and then be able to devote their full attention to the patient. There needs to be a balance between giving someone very little time and wasting too much time on one person. That’s why doctors not only need to focus but also remain in control. Often patients will ramble on about their problem even after the doctor has figured out what’s wrong. For a case like that, every doctor should have something prepared to say in order to go treat other patients.
Multiple patients in the film were returning patients – they had been seen within the week. This emphasizes the importance of having a primary care physician. Visiting the emergency department is necessary sometimes, but in situations where getting a prescription refilled, a referral to another physician, a follow-up appointment or a consultation about a non-life threatening issue visiting the emergency department is not the preferred choice. If patients decreased the number of visits to the emergency department for these types of situations; there would be countless benefits. The benefits for the patient would be less wait time, they would be in a better to
She is a pious, autonomous individual who likes to take matters into her own hands. When it comes to her plan to give her brother a proper burial, “Creon is not enough to stand in [her] way,” and she is “not afraid of the danger; if it means death, it will not be the worst of deaths – death without honor,” (Antigone 15, 80-81). To Antigone, family and honor are of highest priority, and she will not let anything or anyone prevent her from carrying out her duties. From the beginning of the play until her death, she holds onto these principles. Even the way in which she dies is reflective of this self-ruling ideal; she killed herself before anyone else could, not allowing anyone other than herself to have control over her fate. And because of these principles, her misfortunes were self-inflicted. She knew what misfortunes awaited her if she were to go through with her plan; she knew “the penalty [for burying Polyneices] – stoning to death in the public square,” (Antigone 23-24). She was fully aware that she would get killed for carrying out this act, but she did not allow those consequences to stop her from doing what she believed was honorable. Because Antigone’s misfortunes occurred with her full conscious knowledge and acceptance of her consequences, she is not considered a tragic
Who would have thought you could grow attached to someone you disliked in the first place? Actors of British Sci-Fi drama series “Doctor Who” have that effect on their fans and never have I thought ever that Matt Smith would have that effect on me after seeing him leave the show on Christmas day. Matthew Robert Smith is a British actor best known for his role as the eccentric Eleventh Doctor in the series and though fans of the show doubted him because of his age and lack of experience and exposure, Whovians had learned to love him after he showed and proved to the world that he epitomized The Doctor.
I am a sophomore at Cathedral High School and throughout the school year I have read multiple novels, however only one novel stood out to me. The novel that stood out to me the most was Fahrenheit 451. The reason this book stood out to me was because of your character in the novel. Out of all the characters I have read about, only you have been a real hero to me. Your role as the hero in the novel Fahrenheit 451 was very riveting. It was inspiring to me how you stood up for your beliefs and saw that what society was doing was wrong. You were able to overcome actual obstacles in your way; instead of just running away from your problems before you tried to solve them. You were also able to make an enormous impact on your society by challenging the morals of those around you and by not letting others brainwash you and persuade you to give up on trying to stop the burning of books.
After Antigone was found to be guilty of burying her brother Polyneices, Creon said “I suppose she’ll plead family ties, well, let her. If I permit my own family to rebel then how shall I earn the world’s obedience?” (III, 29-31) Creon was so egotistic and sententious that he would even look down on his own family. He really did not care at all that he was sentencing his own niece to death. by the end of the play Creon began to realize just how terribly he had treated his family so he said “Lead me away, I have been rash and foolish. I have killed my son and wife.” (Exodos, 134-135) Creon killed his son and wife because he chose to ignore the fact that he was single handedly tearing his family apart. He was conceited and too self-absorbed to notice just how much damage he had been causing. This proves that he was a bad father and husband and that he felt no obligation to his family as long as he was in charge of
“We look for medicine to be an orderly field of knowledge and procedure. But it is not. It is an imperfect science, an enterprise of constantly changing knowledge, uncertain information, fallible individuals, and at the same time lives on the line.” There is more to being a great physician than having intellect, clinical experience, and competence in the medical field. A doctor must be daring and genuinely driven to positively impact a patient’s life. A doctor needs stand tall, even in the face of uncertainty.
This topic, just like any other topics, has it pros and cons of why we believe that both Antigone and Creon suffered. Both Creon and Antigone suffered a large amount but in my opinion, I think Creon suffers the most for many reasons. My reason for choosing Creon is because Antigone does suffer a lot but in the end where is she? She dies and because of that, she is in peace in heaven or where she is. Also she was the first ones to die besides Polyneices and Etocles. Creon, first of all, yes, it is his fault for not listening when Teiresias, Haimon and Antigone herself...
...ut her son’s death, she goes and slits her throat. Creon then feels Antigone’s direct action when he is all alone at the end of the play. His edict caused so much pain in suffering for his family, he led them all to suicide.
In the 1991 film titled “The Doctor”, William Hurt portrays Dr. Jack MaKee, a cardiothoracic surgeon coming to terms with issues related to his newly diagnosed laryngeal cancer.
“Change… We don’t like it, we fear it. But we can’t stop it from coming. We either adapt to change, or we get left behind. It hurts to grow. Anybody who tells you it doesn’t is lying. But here’s the truth: Sometimes, the more things change, the more they stay the same. And sometimes, oh, sometimes, change is good. Sometimes, change is… everything.” (Hudspeth, C. n.d.) Greys Anatomy has won 5 awards and been put up for 39 nominations, the show started in March 27, 2005. This medical drama has been around for fifteen years and is still going strong. It is one of the leading medical drama shows on television. (Hudspeth, C. n.d.) The way they pursue drama in the hospital and between the doctors and patients pulls you into the show. This pictures
Creon is the tragic hero in Antigone for many reasons. His stubbornness by not wanting to be proven wrong because of his pride is one of the many reasons Creon is the tragic character. Creon believes it is okay to give Eteocles a proper burial because he died, as a man should, fight for his country. On the other hand, Creon treats Polyneices’ death in a distasteful, uncaring manner. Creon believed Polyneices’ should not receive a proper burial because Polyneices’ broke his exile to come back with fire and sword against his native city and the shrines of his father’s gods, whose idea was to split his blood and sell his own people into slavery. Creon also said that anyone that touches Polyneices’ or says the least prayer for him would be stoned to death. The Choragus attempted to inform Creon that he made a mistake by saying nobody can bury Polyneices, but it is to no avail. When Creon finds out someone has buried Polyneices, he assumes it is the men, the anarchists, that buried him because they want money, but Antigone is really the one that buries Polyneices. When the people of Thebes tried to tell Creon Antigone did the right thing, he did not want to listen to them. Creon believed that if he made an ex...
