Despite the importance that electricity plays in modern day society, many overlook where these advancements came from and where they started. In the 1800’s, when the population relied on hazardous candlesticks and lanterns for light, Thomas Edison explored something beyond him… the first electrical light source. The Electricity discovery resulted in many failures, but there were many contributors that improved upon the downfalls, making electricity a ongoing exploration.
Just like many explorations, the invention of electricity had many contributors that made this innovation so popular and crucial to the population today. Each person that has been credited for the invention have either helped improve previous inventions or helped create newer …show more content…

Franklin began experimenting with these storms to mostly see what their purpose was, which he later found out that the bright lightning strike is a form of electricity. This primitive experiment was also quite remarkable and impactful. This was the first time the world had really noticed electricity and began to respect it. A man by the name of, Thomas Edison, had picked up from where Franklin left off, but taking a different approach upon the subject. Edison is mostly responsible for the “why” factor. Why was electricity so important in history, and why was it crucial in his time to invent such a wide renowned innovation?
