For the developmental observation assignment we were asked to observe children in their naturalistic environment. For my location, I chose Chuck E. Cheese’s because I felt as though this environment is large enough for a variety of perspectives. For instance, one of them stood up out of the group as a leader and made up these amusing rules of how to cross the jungle gym safely. This shows you how great a child’s imagination can be. During this hour I also observed how they take care of each other. For instance, a younger child she appeared to be around 5 was trying to climb a tube and I noticed these older kids helping her up. It was interesting to see how young kids learn to help one another. Even though a lot of the kids grouped up to play I noticed a few would be quit content playing by themselves. It was neat to watch them explore the jungle gym at their own speed
