Carl Sandburg once said “Time is the coin of your life. It is the only coin you have, and only you can determine how it will be spent. Be careful lest you let other people spend it for you.” This quote hits home every time I think of a particular place, somewhere nearly every American adult has had the misfortune of spending a day. Somewhere we all spend countless hours standing in lines. A government department plagued with incompetent employees; employees that can turn something as simple as renewing a driver’s license into an all day affair. I am of course, referring to the Department of Motor Vehicles or hell on earth as I often call it. Part of the issue with the DMV, or the Department of Motor Vehicles as it has been hitherto called, is the people - from the customers to the employees. Customers come in completely unprepared, holding up the line while they scramble to get things together once they reach the front. Making a bad situation worse, the customers are often downright rude, to both each other and to the DMV employees, pushing each other, slipping in front of people,...
The United States Marshal Service (USMS) is a part of the Department of Justice. The United States Marshal Service occupies ninety-four United States Marshals, all appointed by the president. One Marshal is appointed to each federal court district. The headquarters is located in Washington, D.C. This is the oldest and most versatile federal law enforcement service. Although this service is often overlooked, it is critical in maintaining order in law enforcement. This service arrests approximately 337 fugitives every day. In addition to having offices held in the United States, offices are also open overseas in Columbia, Jamaica, Mexico, and the Dominican Republic. The United States Marshal Service is responsible for detaining the most dangerous fugitives. This service provides many services which include managing prisoners, and sponsoring the Witness Security Program.
Projects developed by the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) go through a planning process that includes the determination of the project’s schedule. To determine the schedule, highway construction projects are divided into several activities and the time management of these activities will define the project’s duration. In order to improve the productivity and facilitate the execution of the project, an effective planning is needed. An organized Work Breakdown Structure can enhance the project duration. However, there are certain unexpected and unavoidable factors, which can delay the project’s termination: (1) Conflicting Weather Conditions (2) Temperature, (3) Project’s location, and (4) Workers’ shifts.
Two business issues facing the California Highway Patrol (CHP) are narcissism and organizational culture. Narcissism can be detrimental to the success within the organization because of the individual's self-centered motivations (Kinicki & Fugate, 2016). Another business issue facing the CHP is organization is the organizational culture and the influence leadership within the organization has on the culture. The purpose of this discussion board is to identify two business issues within the CHP and two concepts to address the issues.
An example of effective time management was highlighted by a FSM, when referring to the amount of emails. “Replying to everything as it comes in then you’d be overwhelmed you have to be able ...

As the old saying goes, “Early to bed and early to rise, makes a man healthy, wealthy, and wise,” but everyone forgets the other stimulating quote on work to worker relations, “Nine to five may earn one much money, but nine to two can save one from worry.” It has become a common stigmata in today’s society for honest workers to be churned through an overly-demanding economic machine commonly known as the 40 to 50 hour work week. This outdated contraption of misleading reward has surrounded and held the American people in its tight hold. In a society where productivity is measured by the hours one clocks in at the end of the day, the reality is that by lowering the hours in a workweek, one would be encouraging a stronger and healthier working
We all have the same 24hrs every day. However, we don’t spend it the same way. Some people use those hours to do important things, while some don’t know what to do with them. Sometime most of the day pass by, they forgot the most important thing they should have done during day. Charley Reese in his article “Learn to edit life” States “it is important to decide what you are not going to do, not going to read, not going to watch as it is to decide what you going to do, read and watch.” Because wasting your time on things that not significant, its giving people chance to use your time for their own gain. One way to limit their access to your time is to usefully spend them with purpose. According to Reese, the tree ways that is useful on managing your time are energy, focus, and making reasonable decisions.
The Drug Enforcement Administration has a long history that marks its significance and succession. Much had been going on during the late nineteen-sixties and early seventies that shaped the years between such as: the assassination of Martin Luther King Jr., the Hippie movement, the closing days of the Vietnam War, the disbandment of the Beatles, Woodstock, the first man on the moon, and the beginning of the Watergate scandal (to name a few). President Richard Nixon took office in 1968, a time which was prevalent for ending the war in Vietnam and the violence across the United States due to anti-war and race riots.
In the workplace, it can be a challenge to juggle several different responsibilities that you may have to complete within a certain time period. Time management is an essential quality for a person to have wherever they work. "Whatever your reasons for doing what you do, better time management at work means you continually strive to improve your effectiveness and your efficiency," (Tom Wilson, 2017) In otherwords, time management improves an individual's overall work ethic and helps them to succeed. In order to gain a greater understanding of the importance of time management in the workplace and improve my skills of time management, I am inserting myself into one of the scenarios that was given to me and state what I would do in that situation.
We must find time to stop and thank the people who make a difference in our lives.
Being busy is better than being bored. Or that’s what it seems like to every American living in the 21st century. Conversations remain in endless small-talk, thoughts and actions become controlled by electronic notifications and ring tones, and life simply feels like checking tasks off of jam-packed agendas. Everyone’s inner drill sergeant seems to be hastening to conquer his or her overcommitted schedules. To many individuals, no matter how many ways they divide their time and attention, no matter how many duties they try and multi-task, there never seems to be enough time in a day to ever catch up. The default response to how one has been doing becomes “Busy!” “Crazy Busy.” “No time.” But the most absurd news is that such a lifestyle is perceived to be a kind of congratulation or boast, rather than a grievance. People want to be busy, as exhausting as it can get.
Time has been described as the scariest of resources, and if left unmanaged, can be the cause for nothing to be managed (Khan, Khan, Ahmad, & Naseer, 2015). Efficiently managing time can improve a person’s all around attributes; productivity, organizational skills, and awareness. Since joining the military, time management has never been an issue for me. The one thing I loved about the military the most was that I always knew what I would be doing every minute of the day. Though my girlfriend hates it, I have carried this mindset over into my civilian life as well.
this is before documentaries, politics and other forms of media attempts to educate, inspect or remind the societal whole of both ends of casuality and consequences which arise due to distrubtion of labor, resource granted, afforded and possessed or not and how individuals, families and institutions bear the burden of perfect management amonsgt a populace on a daily continuum.
When we think of federal law enforcement agencies we only think about the CIA, FBI, DEA, and ATF. There are many different agencies that have their own law enforcement agencies within themselves. Two agencies I found to be within another agency is the United States Postal Inspection Service (USPSIS) which is an investigation agency within the United States Postal Service. I also found the United States Air Force Office of Special Investigations (USAF OSI) which is inside the United States Air Force which in turn is inside the Department of Defense. Both agencies work with other federal law enforcement agencies on different cases as needed.
The organization’s time is critical to achieving results (Peter F. Drucker). According to Peter F. Drucker, effective manager:
