He got into the building by smashing a window. As he got in, a nearby citizen was patrolling who happened to be a police officer. The boy searched for medicine that could help his mother but as soon as he did, the officer arrived at the scene. He shouted to him to put his hands in the air but the boy ran. The boy wasn’t fast enough to escape to the police officer. The police officer got nervous and reacted so he shot the boy. A week later, it came out to the press. If a person shows empathy frequently this should be another quality that allows a person to be considered human. Others tell someone that they understand what they are going through but do they really? For example a boy named Max is playing at a football game and during that play his friend gets tackled. He helps him up as his friend tells him that his lower leg hurts and Max replied with “I know what that feels like too, it happened to me during the last game we had,”. This is an example of Max being human because he didn’t just say that to make his friend feel better. He physically experienced getting tackled the last game he had, so he could relate with his friend. Another example would be if the same situation happened but Max lied about getting tackled the last game. In this scenario it lead to Max feeling guilty about lying to his friend and for the rest of the game. Since Max couldn’t focus with guilt on his mind he lead the team to losing the game because he tripped while running to the end zone. Clearly Max should only be considered human in the first situation. By lying he cost his team the game and had the feeling of guilt. Lying caused the guilt because he didn’t tell the truth. Max might not always have something to relate to with his friend to know what he feels like but if he is at least honest with his friend then that would make him human
