There are two types of euthanasia, active and passive. Active euthanasia is an occurrence where a doctor will give a patient a lethal dose of a drug, or a special drug meant to kill, in order to purposefully end the patient 's life. Passive euthanasia is where a doctor would withhold treatment from a patient resulting in their death.
