Personal Essay: My Decision To Become A Doctor

The decision to become a doctor is a very personal one. For many it takes years of personal realization. And for others, it 's always been their life 's calling to pursue medical school and ultimately don the iconic white lab coat. Being born to doctor parents, medical profession was not something very new to me and always seemed like one of the options that can be pursued. But what really committed me to medical profession was death of my best friend at a young age due to kidney problem. That sad afternoon became my inspiration to spare others the emotional agony that I had to go through as a young boy.
Once I had decided what I wanted to do with my life, I left no stone unturned so that I can do it from KEMU. My father was a graduate of

I am a firm believer that anything can be achieved with hard work and determination. I am passionate, open minded, optimistic and have an agreeable personality. Being a sportsman and organizing and participating in many other activities during my medical school, I have acquired the qualities which make me a good team player who also can lead his team to realize their full potential.
Believe you can and you are halfway there and i believe in myself. Sheer will and determination to help people has carried me so far and it will be my driving force in future too. Though I intend to first and foremost become a clinical physician, I also plan to participate in investigation and education throughout my career.
Thus far, my journey has been most gratifying and I am looking for a strong academic and teaching program, one which will provide a solid background that allows me to choose between competitive fellowships and a career in general medicine. I hope to bring enthusiasm, great commitment and strong work ethics to provide compassionate care, to receive intellectual stimulation, and to build life-long friendships with patients and colleagues and a fulfilling career and life for
