Hillary Clinton vs. Donald Trump The candidates for the 2016 election are republicans Donald Trump, Ted Cruz, and John Kasich. The democrats are Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders. There were many other candidates, but along the way they have dropped out of the race. The two candidates that are in the lead are Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump. Everyone has their own opinion about the two candidates in the lead. Hillary Clinton is in the lead of the Democrats and Donald Trump is in the lead of the Republicans. Each Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump have some good and bad aspects to their campaigns. Hillary Clinton is from Chicago, Illinois and she was born on October 26, 1947 making her 68 years of age. Hillary went to Yale Law School and The twelve key issues are education, guns, healthcare, immigration, jobs and wages, marijuana, social issues, taxes, Israel, Iran, Islamic state, and trade. Some of the twelve key issues are more important than others. For example, Hillary Clinton wants to “make community college free and allow students to attend public four-year colleges debt-free” (Wellford and Desjardins). This is a very large key issue because who would not want college to be free? Some people believe that this is not a good idea, but others think it would be a great investment. According to Wellford and Desjardins, Hillary Clinton wants to make it where certain weapons are banned. She also wants to make sure that when someone purchases a gun they have to go through a background check with no loopholes (Wellford and Desjardins). Everyone has their own opinion about gun control and how it should be dealt with. Another one of the twelve key issues is healthcare. Many people do not think that Obamacare is doing any good, but others support it. Clinton wants “expand Obamacare” (Wellford and Desjardins). Expanding Obamacare could be good or bad. Immigration is a very large key issue. Hillary Clinton believes that immigrates have a right to be here so she wants to “waive deportation and expand them. Give undocumented residents a path to legal status” (Wellford and Desjardins). These are just some of the twelve key “Donald was an energetic, assertive child, and his parents sent him to the New York Military Academy at age thirteen, hoping the discipline of the school would channel his energy in a positive manner” (“Donald Trump”). Donald Trump ended up doing well at the academy, becoming a star athlete and a student leader. He graduated in 1964 from the academy and then decided to attend Fordham University. He then transferred to the Wharton School of Finance at the University of Pennsylvania. He graduated from there in 1968 with an economics degree (“Donald Trump”). Many people believe that if we had a president with a business degree we could be better off. Others believe that he would be to open minded. Donald Trump announced that he was running for president on the Republican ticket for the 2016 elections on June 16,
When people are deciding whom they will vote for an important factor they look at is the candidates’ educational background. Nixon grew up in a southern California Quaker family. He was stressed about the importance of hard work and integrity. He was always a good student in school and had the chance to apply to Harvard and Yale. He had to turn down the offer though because of a family illness which caused him to stay closer to home. He decided to attend Whittner College, where he graduated second in his class. He went on to attend law school at Duke University where he graduated third in his class. It is important to have a good education because you will look much more competent in the eyes of the people voting for you. By receiving and doing very well in his education Nixon got the support he would later need to become President.
After high school, he applied to Harvard, and began his education there in 1876. It was there that he met Alice Lee, whom he later married. After graduating from Harvard, Roosevelt enrolled at the Columbia University Law School, but he dropped out. Instead he entered politics, which fascinated him. He believed as his father did, that men of wealth and intelligence should devote themselves to public service. At this time, New York politics were ran by corrupt party bosses. Therefore he was discouraged from entering by many of his friends and associates, by them saying “…the organizations were not controlled by ‘gentlemen’…the men I met would be rough and brutal and unpleasant to deal with…”
The connection between these three elements are very strong, they are used right after each one gave out such as ethos go after logos. Not only used logos, ethos, parallelism but Hillary Clinton also used cause and effect and pathos tools to make the speech more influence. She made her points clear that women also are important as men do, sometimes they are even greater. If women are treated well, they could change the whole world. This is the message that I found in this speech. From “Woman’s right are Human’s Right” speech, I learned that in order to give a good speech, I need to combine many literary techniques to make it more fluent. Importantly, where to apply the right tool to amplify the effect of the
In the United States there are only two main political parties to choose from. The two main parties are the Democrats and the Republicans. There are also many other political parties to choose from which are called third parties. Third parties may include political parties such as the Socialist Equality Party and the Peace and Equality party. People can choose to be a part of any party they want but most go with the common two main parties the Democrats and Republicans. Democrats and Republicans have many similarities and differences. These mainly occur in international, social, economic, and domestic issues.
Clinton repeats the words “If women” followed by “will” (Clinton), this gives the audience a reason to accept her propositions. Good outcomes come with good actions. When she concluded her speech, Hillary kept using the repetition of the words dignity, respect, family and children. Clinton’s credibility is not questioned when she says she has been working in the case, “Over the past 25 years, I have worked persistently on issues relating to women, children, and families” (Clinton) this is the way she knows about women and their necessities, “I’ve had the opportunity to learn more about the challenges facing women in my country and around the world” (Clinton). Her goal is definite, “To strengthen families and societies by empowering women to take greater control over their own destinies”( Clinton). This change will not only affect women, but everyone who surrounds them.
While Donald Trump is a billion dollar business tycoon and he's known for his shrewd dealings as a real estate mogul, he still wants to run for President of the United States. The mogul has popularity among the rich and famous for his business-style leadership and will use this to his advantage to gain votes and supporters. In my opinion, Donald Trump is a confrontational and brazen individual. He seems to treat his candidacy with the same unethical attitude that is used in his line of business.
Donald Trump is known as a successful businessman who is currently a candidate for the upcoming 2016 presidential elections. His father had his own firm called Elizabeth Trump and Son. Trump inherited his father’s firm, which he eventually renamed, The Trump Organization LLC. In an article from The New York Times, Trump’s accomplishments are listed. “ Three of them, built since 1976, stand out amidst the crowded midtown landscape: the 68- story Trump Tower, with its
In a simplified version of her childhood, the reader learns that Hillary "grew up between the push and tug of [her] parents' values and [her] own political beliefs reflect both" (11). Hillary shares that her father was quite a conservative Republican and that her mother was a Democrat, though she kept quiet about her political beliefs in their predominantly Republican neighborhood of Park Ridge, Illinois. Senator Clinton's father was very tight with money and, when Hillary or one of her brothers would ask for cash, Mr. Rodham (Hillary's dad) would make the children fully explain why they needed the money. ...
Donald John Trump was born in Queens, New York on June 14th, 1946 (Ask Men 3). The fourth child of Fred and Mary-Anne Trump, Donald was born into wealth and prosperity. His family operated the profitable New York real estate developing company, specializing in middle-income housing, Elizabeth Trump & Sons (Biography 2). Trump was an energetic child and was sent to military school during his teen years to learn disciple (Ask Men 5). He succeeded at The New York Military Academy and became a star student, football, baseball, and soccer player (Encyclopedia of World Biography 2). Graduating in 1964, he momentarily considered pursuing a film degree but instead decided to enroll at Fordham University, and later transfer to The Whorton School of Finance at the University of Pennsylvania. During the summer, Trump would work with his father in the real estate industry, gaining experience. It was during this time him and his father undertook the revamping of a neighborhood in Cincinnati, Ohio, The Swifton Village. After investing only a half a million dollars into the units, him and his father were able to reach 100% occupancy in two years and turned over a $6 million profit (Korte 4). He graduated from The Whorton School with a degree in economics in 1968 (Encyclopedia of World Biography 4).
There are a lot of people currently in the public eye, people who have a great deal to do with our country and the way that it has been managed or not managed. It all depends on what you believe from the information that we are given. One face that has been around for many years, but is not always talked about in the media is Hilary Clinton. Hillary is one face in our country that is both well-known politically and also publicly. Normally when writing a paper, particularly one that is a biography, the first inclination is to write about someone who is directly involved with current events. Hillary Clinton, while not a prominent part of our current governmental events, has been very active in past events and remains someone who comes up continuously due to her help in other affairs. It is probably safe to say that her presence, while not always completely visible, will always be a prominent part in our government and its workings.
In the midst of one of the most controversial presidential elections in history, both political parties are struggling to prove that their candidate is the best choice. Clinton and Trump’s disapproval ratings are very low, but one has to ask, is there really a lesser evil to choose from? While Clinton has had her own fair share of past discrepancies, Trump’s track record proves much more troublesome. Donald Trump has proven to be an untrustworthy presidential candidate because of his misogynistic actions, his racial bias, and his corrupt business history.
The goal of Hillary’s speech is to persuade her audience that her ideas are valid, by using ethos, pathos, and logos. Hillary is the First Lady and Senator, she shows credibility as an influential activist for woman rights. “Over the past 25 years, I have worked persistently on issues relating to women, children, and families. Over the past two and a half years, I’ve had the opportunity to learn more about the challenges facing women in my country and around the world” (Clinton 2).
Some people believe her values are “a result of having lived through the depression” (Harris 673). She has seen the worst and hopes to make things better for her people. As a child, Clinton was “earning merit badges in girl scouts and starring in the girls softball league” (Harris 674). She has always believed women were smart and strong. Earning badges and playing sports might not seem like much, but it taught a young Clinton that women can do anything they set their mind to. Clinton went off to college and met her husband Bill Clinton there. As the couple got older, Bill decided he wanted to run for president. Hillary “went to Indiana to coordinate the campaign” (Harris 678) for Bill. From the start to the end of Bill’s presidency, Hillary was “extremely active in government affairs” (Hurley 204). She “[emphasized] the need for a global feminist agenda” (Hurley 204-205). Even though Bill was the president, Hillary applied herself as if she were the president. She encouraged equality for genders. Her speech “Women’s Rights Are Human Rights” was given right in the middle of Bill’s presidency. She used her economic power to create awareness of the gender inequality in the
She was able to deliver such an exceptional speech because of her knowledge and credibility on the topic. Clinton is a woman and frequently has to deal with her own right to be treated as equal to men. Politics is viewed as a man 's job, viewing women as though they cannot do as good of a job as men. Clinton has also traveled the women talking to many women about the struggles they encounter, “Over the past 25 years, I have worked persistently on issues relating to women, children, and families. Over the past two and a half years, I 've had the opportunity to learn more about the challenges facing women in my own country and around the world” (Clinton). The Women’s rights battle is an important topic for Clinton. She was able to see, first hand, mothers fighting for healthcare, education, food, and safer housing and town for themselves and their children. By adding her own experience and knowledge on top of the heartbreaking facts and struggles of women makes this speech even more
Many Americans are beginning to wonder who will run as the Democratic candidate for the next president of the United States. Since the 2008 election, one particular name has been the topic of conversation around most media outlets and households across the county. With over one million supporters who believe in her abilities to lead, Hillary Clinton possesses the qualities that meet the leadership criteria that would help her to become the leader of the free world. I choose to research Hillary Clinton because I admire the drive and passion she puts into her work. She is a unique global leader whose activism has promoted social change around the world.
