Nobbles and singer song0writer Steve Earle, and Earle’s opinion on capital punishment as he waits to witness the execution of the death row inmate he now calls friend.

Capital Punishment should NOT be abolished, because it is the only punishment that fits the crime, it is not cruel-inhumane, and Capital Punishment provides closure for all to heal.

In conclusion, I must restate how capital punishment should Not be abolished. Capital punishment can be a difficult topic to approach because people tend to have extreme views on it. Capital punishment is an asset to society: it is the only punishment that fits the crime, it deters potential criminals as well as serves retribution to criminals. It is in no way inhumane or immoral, and it does provide completely closure for the healing process to begin. The arguments against capital punishment often not hold up when examined more closely. It is important that our nation is united on this issue, rather than having some states use capital punishment while others do not.
