A knight in shining armor, riding on a shiny white horse with his sword and shield; this is the hero that many children fantasize about. In today’s society, this kind of hero is nearly impractical, but there are many people that can very closely live up to this expectation. A hero today is not just a person that has done something “good;” he does it exceptionally. He does it so well that it may even be referred to as impractical. If it weren’t for a hero named Walt Disney, Mickey Mouse wouldn’t exist. When one thinks of childhood, they may think of the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and other various toys that had been created. One might think of waking up to the sight of Mickey Mouse posters on his wall. Disney is a hero who made all of these things possible. A hero is not just a person who works hard; he perseveres through the toughest challenges. If Walt Disney hadn’t persevered or had the talent to excel as a filmmaker, there would be no Mickey Mouse. Walt Disney was not the richest man, yet he created an empire that is known to almost every adult and child today. When thinking of Walt Disney, one thinks of childhood days, familiar characters and family fun. Disney created an empire so great it defied possibility. He survived bankruptcy to become one of the world’s best-known entertainers. Walt Disney is the epitome of hero because his various artistic and leadership talents and his ability to overcome business challenges allowed him to become one of the world’s greatest entertainers to adults and children alike.

As long as children enjoy cartoons and families enjoy vacations together, Disney’s name will remain prolific. Walt Disney is the epitome of a hero because his various artistic and leadership talents and his ability led him to become a household name. Disney is a person who has influenced many lives in one way or another and never lost sight of what was actually important. He displays all of these characteristics and has transcended beyond expectations to fulfill his dreams and goals. Because of Walt Disney, the toys and games we play today are revolutionized. It is because of his determination and meritorious work ethic that the Disney Empire is a staple of pop culture today.
