Censorship is the suppression or prohibition of any parts of books, films, news etc. that are considered obscene, politically unacceptable, or a threat to security (oxford). Censoring has been in debate for decades. We can recall the speech of former President John F. Kennedy that shocked the whole nation and world. In his speech he spoke of secrecy of secret societies, the need for the American people to know what the government was doing (transparency) and how the media should inform the public at all times (science experiments) without being censored.
