Today in our society there are many controversies going on in the world about different things relating to the environment. Everyone has his or her own opinion about what’s good and what’s bad for our mother earth. One of these controversies is if bottled water or tap water is better. Most people don’t really think about where their water is coming from out of the tap or how do they know that water is safer than bottled water? Then some people think bottled water tastes better and is better for you, but is it really? That is what we are going find out. Which is better Tap water or bottled water? Tap water is everywhere. It’s in our homes and the restaurants we eat at. We brush our teeth and shower in it. We use tap water on a daily basis and a lot of people drink it straight out of the faucet. Some people may not like the taste of tap water but according to the CDC the United States has the safest drinking water supply in the world. These systems are also regulated by the Environmental Protection Agency, which means there are very strict safety standards. Some people don’t know what the EPA requires daily tests of the water and those results are available to the public but the FDA only tests bottled water one a week and the results are not made …show more content…

Bottled water has been around for centuries and it’s crazy to think we pay a good bit of money just to have our water in a bottle. The water industry spends over 100 million dollars globally every year on bottled water (Dell’Amore). That is a lot of money to put water in a bottle. Its also said it takes about three liters of water to just produce one liter of water and we are wasting more water just to make more. The bottled water industry is also starting to take off overseas as well. Americans drink an average nine billion gallons of water of year, which means every person drinks about 30 gallons of water a year
