The simple definition of the termination of pregnancy has such an up roar and a voice of opinions in society. When many hear the word abortion, they think of a woman getting rid of her baby because she was not being safe with her partner and that she is making a selfish decision. An abortion can also occur spontaneously where it is then referred to as a miscarriage. It is important to understand reasoning behind why each abortion was chosen before judging the parents of the baby or the doctor involved. Many say that abortions are unethical as they are speaking in the baby’s voice, but some voices find the side where there are circumstances that make an abortion ethical and necessary which defines pro-choice and pro-life.
Although abortion is legal in the United States, many people continue to voice their opinions on how it is a human rights violation and should be illegal everywhere. The practice of abortion should be banned in society because it terminates the life of an innocent unborn child, causes long-term emotional effects, as well as major health risks for women who opt for abortion. The debate of abortion continues to be a controversial problem in society and has been around for many decades. According to Jone Lewis, “In the United States, abortion laws began to appear in the 1820’s, forbidding abortion after the fourth month of pregnancy” (1). This indicates that the abortion controversy has been debated far back into American history.

If abortion remains legal in the U.S. then it should just be strictly for cases dealing with rape, incest, or even disabled child difficulties, but even then abortion should not be the solution to these cases. Adoption can be a more suitable solution to these cases than abortion. Works Cited "ACOG Education Pamphlet AP043 -- Induced Abortion."

The topic of abortion is an extremely controversial issue in today's society, there are many separate views on the morality of it. Abortion is defined as the deliberate termination of a human pregnancy (“Abortion”). In other words, it is the murder of an unborn child. Throughout the past there has been several court cases related to abortion, in attempt to resolve the debate. For example, Roe v. Wade declared that unborn children are neither ‘persons’ nor are they entitled to the same constitutional protection as born children (“Roe V. Wade”).
Therapeutic abortion that is one of the most disputable topic in modern society is evident capable of generating intense passions, that lead to a great number of other social issues. In recent decades, on a global scale there is increasing pressure for changes in abortion which could lead to a various consequences. Selective abortion is permitted when a particular fetus is perceived as having undesirable characteristics. These include cases of sex-selective abortion where the unborn child is a girl, and the parents, for cultural or other reasons, want a boy or the fetus does not suit the parents in some other way. While some believe in the right to choose, others consider it as murder; in both cases the turmoil of abortion has an extreme affect on a woman. Even though the United States has ruled abortions to be legal, there is still controversy. One may say that this is a growing problem in our country. However, for every problem there should be a solution. Erika Bachiochi argues that: “The state's suppression of a woman's right to choose [was] simply a perpetuation of the patriarchal nature of our society...To free women from [the] gender hierarchy, women must have a right to do what they please with their bodies” (22).
