The reliability of the information that is found from it has always been doubtful by professors when used in studies as the reliable reference point. The information that is retrieved from Wikipedia by the teachers and professors makes it to be difficult to become a reliable source, since there is no credit that is accorded to it. On the other hand, it has been praised as being able to provide useful information, such as the more useful links that are made available, enabling the learner to retrieve the required information, in a shorter period. The challenges that are faced include the aspect of plagiarism. The various teachers have out rightly advised their students to apply Wikipedia as the area of commencing their research, but when it comes to academic work, they should be careful since it is not a safe haven. This positions the threat to the level of information retrieved from Wikipedia, prompting many scholars to shy away from accessing the system. The authenticity of the information accessed is put into test as the material accessed cannot be ably relayed in peer-reviewed work. These are very important to note in bid to ascertain the exact situation in which one is to retrieve the information from the system (Brian, 2012).
