Unfortunately, the Haitians that did survive aren’t as better off as, as much, as one would think, than the people that didn’t. Being Haiti is already a poor and undeveloped country, the economy- including jobs, relied majorly on agriculture and certain industries; such as sugar refining and textiles. Agriculture alone employed about two-thirds of central Haiti. However, the majority of their agriculture and industries were destroyed in the earthquake, causing unemployment levels to sky-rocket. Even though, a lot is being done to help restore Haiti’s initial state.
