Cause of Gender Stereotypes: Gender Role Stereotypes exist in everything that society looks upon and label. Some are based on race, religion, sexual orientation, and many others. This essay will focus solely on the cause of gender stereotypes, which is the gender role. Gender role is the way one is expected to behave and function due to his/her gender. Gender stereotypes are a huge issue for most, especially since the majority are women. Women are the ones experiencing the negativity of the gender stereotypes and gender roles more than the average man. Gender role-plays a big part in today’s academic, professional, and social life of everyone who lives on this earth. Yes, even though women are more independent and more lethal with the academics and professional worlds, it’s still an issue that women face today. Men are more in pressure about the fact that women are a fierce competition nowadays. Luckily feminism exists and it’s the first step to a better society, but the problem is that maybe the generation of today won’t be able to experience that true feeling of nirvana. Time is far too enough in this world for people to still treat each other like a disgrace. Race is not the only thing that faces the discrimination. Sure, a white woman will be more respected than one of any other race, but she will earn lesser than the average white man. Society brainwashed the judgmental system and make them think it’s okay to belittle others, especially genders. People need a reality check and judge others based on their abilities, determination, and success.
