The Career of Nursing
“Nurse” comes from the Latin word that means “to nourish”. Nurses are the largest profession in health-care of the entire United States and continues to grow. The ideal mindset for a nurse is that of the patients well-being being at the center of attention for any and every task. Nursing has been around for many years and has changed drastically. Not only has the teaching changed, but the outfits, duties, and many other things have changed as well. There are a lot of different specialties in the nursing field. My personal is trauma (Rowell, Hagan, 2006, pp. 417-422). A nurses aid is a person who helps nurses perform work in many different locations. They can also be known as ward helper, hospital attendant, an orderly, or CNA (certified nurses assistant). Nurses have it pretty easy at times, as the aids do as much of the nurse’s work as they are allowed to. Part of an aid’s duty is to answer patient call lights, assist with feeding, wash up and care for the patients in whatever condition they may be in while also keeping patient rooms in presentable order. Aid’s are a major aspect of transporting/transferring patients. There are two different kinds of

This soon gave emphasis to train new nurses to give better patient care. Nurses were urgently needed during the Civil War in 1861-65 to aid sick and wounded soldiers. Florence was a major contribution to this as she influenced many people. Florence created the first school of nursing at St. Thomas’s Hospital in London in 1860. Schools similar to that of Miss. Nightingale’s began in the United States and Canada in the early 1870’s. As the industry grew, so did the need for nurses. Numbers of hospitals and nursing schools started to pop up all over throughout the next several decades. As more and more produced, the standers just got higher and higher (Rowell, Hagan, 2006, pp.
What is a nurse? According to the dictionary, a nurse is someone who is trained to care for sick or injured people. Nurses are well respected because they are in a skilled profession and work to remain accident free. Some of which include being stereotyped as all being women, a profession many call men gay for being involved in, always working in a hospital, will always marry someone that is the medical field, all nurses wear white hospital gowns and a cap, that nursing is easy, are reject doctors, they are all the same, and they do not make a lot of money.
My research paper is on the healthcare occupation, in particularly, the field of licensed practical nursing, also called licensed vocational nurses. In my paper, I will cover such things as the definition of career choice, certain requirements, the expected job duties and responsibilities, any additional licensure that is required. After discussing these topics, I will then point out the potential of finding a job, the ranges of salary, as well as the environment I would be working in. Finally, I will talk about the potential growth in this field and legal requirements. Now i will start with the definition of my career choice.
Nursing is a knowledge-based profession within the health care sector that focuses on the overall care of individuals. According to The American College of Nurse Practitioners (ACNP), “defines nurse practitioners as registered nursed who have received graduate-leveling nursing education and clinical training, which enables them to provide a wide range of preventative and acute health care services to individuals of all ages. They deliver high-quality, cost effective care, often performing physical examinations, ordering tests, making diagnoses, and prescribing and managing medication and therapies”. Nurse Practitioners are able to specialize in a particular area, such as family and adult practice, pediatrics, and women’s health; and refer patients to other specialist when necessary. Some Nurse practitioners work under the supervision of a physician; while others run their own practices.
Nursing Nursing is a profession within the health care field. Nursing mainly focuses on personal, family as well as community care in ensuring they maintain and recover their health (Aiken et al., 647). Nurses can be distinguished from other providers of health care by their training, practice, and the approach towards patient care. Traditionally, nurses provided health care under the supervision of physicians, but currently nurses are being observed as care providers.
When a person is in poor state of health, they need someone to nurse them back to their wellness. In order for a person to nurse someone, they have to have certain qualities to accomplish it. Those qualities include good communication, kindness, being reasonable, understanding, caring, patience and etc. Not everyone can maintain all those qualities at once, but if one sets their mind to it, it's possible. A nurse can be anyone who takes care of someone. A nurse doesn't always have to be someone working as a pro...
Most people question whether to go into a career in the medical field, but what really drew my attention to the profession of a Registered Nurse is the fact that they help people in more than one place, they are higher up in the medical field, and they put in a lot of time and effort in to tending the needs of their patients. The profession of a registered nurse is one that requires us to care for the health of others.
Throughout my life I have overcome many obstacles. I have worked and gone to school since I was 17, I paid for my housing, and I paid my necessities. In the past when I was unsure what I wanted to do with my life I struggled in school. I was a “B” and “C” student. I had a hard time finding something that really interested me. Fortunately, when I started working in healthcare I knew this was a career field I wanted to pursue. As my goals went up and solidified, so did my grades. I am proud to say I am a solid “A” and “B” student. And as I worked my way through the grapevine of jobs and aspirations I found that nursing was what my heart set upon.
Nursing has always been a key career in the health care system. Although it is not often focused on media and stories surrounding health care, nursing is a career of great importance. If any patient was asked about their experience at a hospital or a care center, many would mention the capability and care that they received from the nurses. The health care system could not function efficiently, if at all, if nurses were not present to perform their part. Nurses are more than just physicians, support staff.
In this career about there are approximately an average of 2600000 people employed. There is many duties in this field but the main achievement in this field is to maintain a stable and healthy life towards a patient. A nurse is a health care professional who cares for ill or disabled individuals, their families and communities ensuring that they attain, maintain or recover optimum health and functioning (Crosta, 2013). In 1849 Florence went abroad to study the European hospital system. In 1853 she became the superintendent for the Hospital for Invalid Gentlewomen in London. In 1854 Florence raised the economic and productive aspect of women's status by volunteering to run all the nursing duties during the Crimean War. With her efforts the mortality rates of the sick and wounded soldiers was reduced. While being a nurse was her profession and what she was known for, she used statistics to achieve...

My choice of nursing as a career was inspired by past experiences that made me appreciate the field and its virtues. My mother was an obstetrician-gynecologist in China. I grew up having spent lots of time in her hospital. The medical field really appealed to me. Nevertheless, my mom thought that being a teacher was a better career choice for me. As a result, I worked as a high school teacher till my husband and I came to the U.S. to pursue our post-graduate education. I started my retail business in Madison, Wisconsin after I earned my master’s degree in Organization Development. My life appeared to have nothing to do with my childhood medical dream. However, things changed when both of my sons were diagnosed with Autism. The successful experience
