Readers know when they are reading a work by this famous author without seeing the cover or title page because her works have so many similarities. Throughout the brief story, The Scarlet Ibis, James Hurst uses an abundance of symbolism to help tell the story of Doodle. The symbolism leads into imagery and foreshadowing, also. Each symbol contributes to the story in a different way. There are various connotations throughout the symbols. Hurst uses three very powerful, thorough symbols in his story that I will discuss. Each conveys a story of its own. This is “The Scarlet Ibis.” It is written by James Hurst and is realistic fiction. This story is mainly about Brother, who is teaching his physically disabled brother how to be like a normal kid, but pressures him very much, and it begins to become a problem for his physical disability. Hurst subtly sets up parallels for the mahogany coffin and the family’s doubt towards Doodle’s survival as well as the death of Doodle, the progression that spring brings, the regression that winter brings, the seasons in general, and the determination that Old Woman Swamp brings to the boys.
Many animals depend on different environments such as lakes, oceans or the forest in order to survive. However due to human intervention such as pollution of the ocean, or heavy deforestation, many animals are at the risk of extinction. One such example is known as the Gundlach Hawk which due to deforestation is currently on the endangered species list. Due to it being on the list, conservation attempts are being made in order to keep the animal alive and save it from extinction.

Well apparently not so much to the Shang Dynasty. They were so much more than that. A Rhinoceros was a very sacred symbol that showed great power. Only the emperor was allowed to own them. The Shang Dynasty was the very beginning of the Bronze Age, they had made many food and wine vessels made of gold used for ancestral offerings. These traditions still continue in China, considering there is still and Emperor.

There are measures that are being taken worldwide to prevent loss of biodiversity. Many wildlife sanctuaries have been built worldwide to preserve the lives of various endangered species. However, it is important to remember that every individual has a role in the protection of wildlife and biodiversity. Although it may not seem saving or protecting endangered animals is important, it actually and truly is important because animals around the world are being killed for wildlife marketing purposes which is illegal and destroys the species population in that environment. Citizens should take more care of these endangered animals before they become totally extinct and will no longer be seen on the face of the earth. Recently researchers have found that poachers (hunters who hunt animals for their value by trading illegal merchandise) are killing thousands of animals a day, and they are doing so even to this day. These species should be treated with more responsibility and care. They are even being killed by human interactions such as deforestation, oil spills, etc.
