What if a young couple accidently gets pregnant? They are both in high school and do not have jobs. Is it acceptable for them to get an abortion? Teenagers across America are getting abortions at a young age because they get pregnant and are not able to support their child. There are two sides to the argument and the two groups are pro-abortion and pro-life. Pro-life is against abortion, because they believe that it is going against the Church and God. Pro- Abortion is for abortion, because they believe that if the teenager or mother of the child cannot support the child it is only right to get an abortion. It is wrong to take the life of an unborn and defenseless child by the operation of getting an abortion.
Abortion is the deliberate termination of a human pregnancy, most often performed during the first 28 weeks of pregnancy. In other words it is the killing of an unborn baby. Abortion has been divided into three man categories. The first category of abortion is those that invade the uterus and kill the child by instruments which enter the uterus through the cervix. The second category is when those that kill the preborn child by administration of drugs and then induce labor and the delivery of a dead baby. The last category is when those that invade the uterus by abdominal surgery. These are three of the most common ways of preforming an abortion. All three ways are the killing of an unborn child.
Abortion is also goes against the ways of the Church and the word of God. The Catholics view the world as God created everything in his own likeness and image and so killing someone is going against the Church. Catholic look at life as sacred and when you take a humans life it is going against God. If someone murdered someone, ...

Abortion is defined by Merriam-Webster as the termination of a pregnancy after accompanied by, resulting in, or closely followed by the death of the embryo or fetus such as a spontaneous miscarriage, or induced expulsion of a human fetus. Abortions have been around for many years, dating all the way back to ancient times. In those times they used herbal medicines, and sharp too. Abortion has a history dating all the way back to civilizations China, Ancient Egypt, and the Roman Empire. Abortions are one of the most common medical procedures performed in the United States each year. Even though it is performed so many times, it is still one of the most controversial procedures to date. Since being allowed by law, abortion has developed in the
The Christian view, that we are created in the image of God, formed by Him in the womb making us human upon conception, makes abortion wrong. It shows what abortion truly is, murder. Murder that is the sacrifice of a human life to the ‘god’ of convenience. While abortion may seem to solve immediate problems for some, this act is wrong and has consequences much worse than the consequences, joys, of having and raising a
What is abortion? Abortion is the direct and purposeful taking of the life of a human being inside the womb. The church teaches that abortion is forbidden just as murder is forbidden. As Catholics we believe that all life is sacred from the moment of conception till death, and the killing of a human being unborn or born is morally wrong and we are to go against abortion.
As defined by the Merriam- Webster dictionary, abortion is “the termination of a pregnancy after, accompanied by, resulting in, or closely followed by the death of the embryo or fetus as a spontaneous expulsion of a human fetus during the first 12 weeks of gestation- miscarriage, the induced expulsion of a human fetus, or the expulsion of a fetus by domestic animal often due to the infection at any time before completion of pregnancy” (“Abortion”).
An issue that has flared up in today’s society, abortion is a highly debated topic that has sparked some of the most violent discussions. The rapid growth in teenage pregnancy has only increased the amount of attention that has been drawn to abortion and whether it is ethical or not. While some say that a woman is in power of her own body and can make choices based on her best interest, some take much offense to that and demand that a baby is a baby no matter how small it is and that abortion is never okay. It is important to know going into this debate that to argue one side, one would have to be 100% consistent with that decision because of all of the grey areas that come up regarding abortion. With that being said, I still believe that a mother should take responsibility of the situation and recognize that, even though it is minuscule, a baby is a person the moment it begins to develop inside of her.
procedure to end pregnancy and take away the life of an unborn baby. An abortion can be done two different ways using medicine or surgically removed by removing the embryo of the fetus and placenta from the uterus(“Abortion”).Both
Abortion is the termination of a human pregnancy that does not end in birth of a child. There are two types of abortion-medical abortion and surgical abortion. Medical abortion can be done before 49 days of pregnancy by using pharmaceutical drugs. Surgical abortion takes place by using surgical instruments between 6-14 weeks of pregnancy. Both methods are safe. It depends on the size of fetus and week of pregnancy. An abortion, which is the removal of a fetus from a woman’s body, should be allowed because of women’ s freedom, life opportunities and victim protection.
There are a lot of debates surrounding the term, “Abortion.” Some believe that abortion is a choice, while others groups like conservatives believe that it is a Sin, and should be illegal. Individuals have their own reasons to why they want to get an abortion, and that should not be limited by legislators. Abortion should be legal because it is the individual right whether to have a baby or not regardless of their situation. The second reason is in the case of rape and incest, the third reason is, whether the individual is capable of caring for the baby.
Abortion is the ending of a pregnancy before birth; it causes the termination of the embryo or fetus inside the woman. There are two different types of abortion, a spontaneous abortion, which is also known as a miscarriage, and an induced abortion, where the embryo or fetus is purposely removed from the woman’s body. The topic of induced abortion has been widely debated for hundreds of years. The issue of abortion was argued way back in the time of the ancient Hebrews. In the United States, it became illegal around the mid 1800’s and not until the 1960’s was the argument for the right to abort brought back to the table.
Abortion defined is the termination of pregnancy by the removal or expulsion from the uterus of a fetus or embryo prior to viability. Each year in the United States 1.6 million abortions are performed with 91% of them being performed during the first trimester (under 12 weeks of gestation). There are second trimester abortions as well (under 24 weeks of gestation) which occurs in 9% of the accumulative abortions a year in the United States. And about 100 abortions are performed in the third trimester (above 24 weeks gestation) this is approximately .01% of all abortions. 1.5 million U.S. women with unwanted pregnancies will choose abortion each year.
For many years, the morality of abortion has been questioned by two perspectives: pro-choice and pro-life. While modern culture explains that abortion is a woman’s free choice if she does not want the unborn baby, the Catholic Church teaches the world that from the moment of conception there is a child with a soul within the womb, and to abort it would be to murder an innocent being.
Abortion is the termination of a pregnancy by destruction of a fertilized egg, embryo or fetus before birth, prior to the time when the fetus attains viability, or capacity for life outside the uterus (Encyclopedia, 1995, p.43). Currently almost twenty-five percent of pregnancies in the United States are aborted. About one forth of people who abort are teenagers, fifty-seven percent are younger than 25, and almost eighty percent are unmarried. During the first trimester is when most of the abortions take place. Only about ten percent are performed later in the pregnancy (Slife, 1998, p.329). Abortions go back as far as Ancient Greece where it was used as a type of population control. Then in the Roman Times men had total control over the procedure. “Man could give law-enforced command that his wife have an abortion, or he could punish or divorce his wife for having one without his consent” (Encyclopedia, 1995, p.43).
The question "Why was abortion condemned in Catholicism?" was answered by Catholic theorist James McCarthy: "Many people believe that the Roman Catholic Church's opposition to abortion stems from its conviction that a new human person exists from the first moment of conception and that this newly formed person has as muc...
What is Abortion? Abortion is the deliberate termination of a human pregnancy. Or a more political way of describing abortion is, the intentional termination of a pregnancy after conception. Giving women the right to conscientiously put an end to their pregnancies, in essence, is allowing them to kill the undeveloped embryo (fetus), which makes it a very controversial subject in American politics.
Abortion is the killing and removing the fetus/ embryo before there is any possibilities of it surviving outside of the mother’s uterus. Abortion is the end of a pregnancy that is normally chosen by the mother, but is also known as a miscarriage. Abortions are mostly known as a surgical procedure, this is done multiple ways but all killing the fetus/ embryo. There is a variety of viewpoints on abortion such as through the religious tradition, also from seeing it as a crime to beneficial, this is an on-going debate about abortion.
