Prologue
“In the beginning when God created the heavens and the earth” (Genesis 1:1). This section of a verse from the NRSV started the grand story of the bible. In the beginning the Bible brings two things to focus. The two things that are focused on is the setting and the main characters of the Bible (Professor Smallbones). The Bible opens in Genesis 1 with God creating. God creates light, the earth, the sun, living creatures, and many other things, but most importantly God creates humans. As God is the main character in the grand story he immediately forms a personal relationship with man and woman. God created Adam the first man and Eve the first woman. In The Unfolding Drama of The Bible, Anderson says, “The new heaven and the new earth”(83). As Jesus died for man and woman he restored the perfect world. By Jesus doing so one can receive everlasting life in heaven. Being saved by grace through faith allows for anyone to be saved. One is not saved by his works man and woman are saved by their faith alone. As Jesus was on the earth I saw myself by him. While Jesus was performing miracles like curing the blind, healing the sick, or helping people walk again I saw myself right beside him. I see myself besides him because I think this is incredible how Jesus did the impossible. Jesus performed tasks like these with no witness, or no praise. I think this shows humbleness in Jesus, but if I was their I would tell the people to win them to him. I could not keep a miracle like that a secret I would tell the cities and win millions of people to the Lord. To get this close to Jesus and be beside him during this time I believe I would have to live a righteous life. I would have to be living through the Lord preaching his name, telling his stories, and help people understand the faith of the Lord and Jesus Christ. By doing these things I believe Jesus would recognize me as a fellow follower in the Lord. This would be truly remarkable to be able to stand and be a apart of Jesus’ life on earth. Spreading the works that he did and the miracles he was doing to people would be a blessing in itself. I can only imagine the miracles that he was able to complete. To be alive and by Jesus’ side would be a dream. I would really enjoy to be with Jesus Christ as he completed all of the miracles and lived the perfect life.
