Wellness is an important aspect of life and not all are aware of how to execute a well put together health plan that will benefit them in the future. It all starts today for the students at Rowan University. With better meal prep and education on the food you are eating, many lives will be positively impacted. Using the Precede-Proceed Model, the health at Rowan can potentially rise and cause other local schools to make a change based on our progress as a school. Of course I cannot force the students to follow our plan and make them eat the healthier choice, but I can give them better access to those choices. If the changes are exposed and if students are aware, it will influence them to make better choices. All the funding and the increase in population at the university will help for the necessary tools that are needed in order to make the change. The conferences will be beneficial to the average student or even making it mandatory for students to take a wellness class to help develop a better understanding of how to transition their lives. Implementing a healthier plan will make increase the health and student body as a whole. The “freshman 15” will decrease and the potential health for the students will be better in the long run. Giving every student at the university the opportunity to life a healthier lifestyle with support will help them. The process might be hard at first to gain enough support because I think I would even struggle at first but knowing the outcomes in the long-run seem more reasonable. Impacting students now will help their lives in the future and improve their health status overall.
