As a kid, I have always been outside playing with my friends in Yangon, capital of Myanmar. I didn’t know the activities that I did was benefiting my overall health. All of that changed when I came to the U.S. in 2003. English was not my primarily speaking language for obvious reason. So, it was very hard to make friends in school, where it seems all the classmates have their own set of friends already. I was afraid because I didn’t know how to approach them with my lack of verbal English. So, my options were limited. All I can do was, watch TV and play games to spend the time. Of course, that doesn’t mean I cannot work out in my free time. Since “Exercise means different things to different people. From snowshoeing to swimming to a fast walk …show more content…
But what about within your system? There are a great deal of benefits that occurs within the body when applying exercise to the body. The benefits include “lowers the risk of developing or dying from heart disease, stroke and diabetes, it also prevents certain cancers, improves mood, builds bones, strengthens muscles, expands lung capacity, reduces the risk of falls and fractures, and helps to keep excess weight in check” (Bassuk, Church, and Mason 74). These benefits are for the down the road to the point when we physically cannot exercise but the insides are remaining strong thanks to the amount of effort to reach that. Nothing is easy, exercising is tough, I know. When you are tired, your body constantly telling that it is enough but it is our mental mind that pushes us. I always tell myself, and perhaps to you is that the amount of rewards is gain by the same amount of effort and resilience that you put …show more content…
It is the driving force, rather a reason that they need to keep going. Evaluating the reasons behind these people reasons for not exercising and neglecting the benefits would lead to eventual health problems with comes at a monetary cost. Like Bassuk, Church and Mason have stated “Most people do not realize that sustained bouts of moderate to vigorous physical activity completely change our bodies from inside out.” (79) We all need to treat our body better and in reciprocity, the body will do the same favor in the long run. As I have come to an understanding from all the researches about health, fitness, and exercising. One thing is clear for me, it is that we all need to treat our body better. Our body demands the same respect that we give to ourselves. I know it is a little cliché, but I making a point to make sure that in the end, you only get out what you put in. With continuing advances in medical researches about health and fitness equipment that help shape on the core areas of the body. Also, eating the right type of nutritional meals, I have no doubt that I will have a better control of my body and my mind will be sharper than before. My personal goal is that I want to lose 40 pounds in the next 2-3 months. So I can make my mother proud and myself as
This is disturbing, not only because so many people are missing out on the physical benefits that result from exercise, but on the mental benefits that result from exercise as well
Many studies suggest that as we age, we're constantly losing our stores of dopamine, which is why we need constantly seek out experiences that release dopamine. The best way to increase your brain's dopamine production is exercise. Think of exercise as “movement”. When we think of exercise or working out, we often picture ourselves red-faced, out of breath, and dripping sweat on the floor. It doesn't have to be like this, though. Instead, focus on moving more throughout your day and increase the amount of movement and have a goal for the workout. The evidence is that shows how workouts aren't supposed to be seen a detention of pain but instead as a way to actually make you feel better and make you want to go more which will improve not just your muscles but your happiness. These statistics and facts from websites all agree that workouts or exercising not only make you feel better but don't have to be a chore. I believe that exercise is important and everyone should participate in trying to improve their health.
It is commonly known that everyone should spend at least one hour a day getting some sort of exercise. Being physically in shape can overall reduce health risks and expand one’s own life span in a positive way. As being a college student who works out daily, I completely agree with this statement because exercising has brought upon me adequate amount of health benefits as well as bestow positive mentality. It has been also reported that many elderly adults has been told by doctors to exercise as often as possible, for it helps reduce problems such as heart diseases, cholesterol and even cancer. Many younger adults also participate in exercising daily to achieve the toned or muscular body that they desire. This makes perfect sense because I don’t know one person who doesn’t want a well-defined six pack, especially when it comes to beach season.
When it comes down to it everyone ends up working out because it becomes a part of their everyday life style and they enjoy doing it. A person who is slightly overweight would get into the gym for weight loss and quickly see that there are many other people around working towards the same goal. Progress becomes easier when encouragement is received from others. Whether it is said or not everyone has their own motive to go to the gym, that easily separates people in this discourse community. However, it also brings unity to their own group.
Exercise is very beneficial to everyone that wants to stay fit and to keep their health in good shape for the future. I know many people that work out just thirty minutes a day and eat healthy and they are in the greatest shape of their life. So during the times you feel fat and lazy and just do not want to get up off the couch. Think if you go to your nearest gym and workout for thirty minutes to an hour you will feel so much better with yourself, and have so much energy throughout your day.
According to the Department of Health and Human Services “adults should get at least two and a half hours (150 minutes) each week of moderate-intensity aerobic physical activity ("Physical Activity Guidelines for Americans-)”. Unfortunately, it is estimated that only about 20% of adults are actually exercising the recommended amount ("CBSNews"). This leaves the other 80% of adults at a disadvantage. Inactivity in adults yields even more increased risk than children. Adults who do not exercise and do not get the proper nutrients are more at risk for “high blood pressure, high blood cholesterol, stroke, type 2 diabetes, heart disease, and cancer ("Why Is It Important? -")”. Unlike children, adults are more aware of these risks, however adults have more reasons to be deterred. The most common reasons adults don’t exercise or eat healthy are that they don’t have time, they feel uncomfortable with their current physical condition, they lack energy due to a poor diet, or they just haven’t developed a habit for exercising ("CBSNews"). The last reason reiterates the need for better physical education
Exercise is often thought of in a positive light. It is common belief in today’s society that a healthy diet and a regular exercise routine will lead to a long, healthy life. And in the simplest sense of the word, it will. It has been a tried and true method to control and lose weight, lift a person’s mood, boost energy, combat a variety of health conditions and diseases, promote better sleep patterns, and even increase libido. (Mayo Clinic, July 23, 2011). So with all of these being possible and probable benefits of working out, why would it possibly be anything other than good? Certainly, something with so many benefits can’t be a bad thing? However, we may overlook the fact that it is like any good thing; in excess it can become dangerous very quickly. In society, there are increasingly more athletes that are pushing themselves so hard to the point they are making themselves sick. Whatever happened to exercising for simple joy, or competing because of a love for sport? The motivations behind an individual’s exercise habits are directly related to whether they develop an addiction. There is even a term for this over exercising phenomenon: Exercise Addiction, or Exercise Dependence.
Have you ever had those moments where you are feeling unmotivated or zero energy to workout? I will be the first to tell you I have had these moments. Being involved in the fitness world, I love every aspect of fitness. For the past 5 years, I was working out 5 days a week and had my ups and downs with results. I am guilty of it, I would pick up a workout magazine and try out this crazy workout and just destroy my body. Sure, I saw some results but I was becoming more and more tired throughout the day. On top of that, I was only getting 5 hours of sleep and not eating appropriately to refuel my body. I know stupid right? I am human and I am not perfect!
There are twenty four hours in one day yet often times we feel like we don't have enough time to get everything done. As humans we come up with excuses on why we can't do things. A lot of feel like we just don't have enough time to go workout, but did you know research shows you’re more likely to get more done after working out, than if you don't work out at all. People that take time for exercise on a regular basis are more productive and have more energy throughout the day. We often take time out of our day and invest our time and money into some sort of "energy boosting" product when we have the cheaper and more effective solution the outdoors....
The majority of people in this society try to exercise and eat right to stay healthy. The problem is that they worry more about exercising and not getting good nutrition. They do not understand that exercise is not enough to be healthy. In order to be healthy, people should be aware of what they eat. This may not be easy for everyone, but one can get support from family and friends in order for it to be easy. Good nutrition is more important than regular exercise because it helps in losing weight, helps to fuel the body, prevent the risk of getting diseases, and helps building muscles.
One of the best ways in how people can improve their overall mood, keep their bones healthy and even live longer, is by being an active person. Fred DeVito stated that “if it doesn’t challenge you, it doesn 't change you”; however most people just want exercise just to have a fit body and be healthier without knowing great results. Other effects that exercise has into the body are normalization of glucose, insulin and leptin levels. In other words not only will it make the appearance in a person’s life to look great, but their entire body will have an extraordinary response. In order to have a more fulfilling and enjoyable life, those who are out of shape should participate in regular fitness schedule reginert.
Sedentary lifestyles have greatly contributed to obesity, and to the diseases affecting to the respiratory and cardiovascular systems. It has been shown that physical inactivity reduces our strength, results in low energy levels, and causes obesity. It is therefore very essential to ensure we that lead a physically active life. Exercising regularly is the key to a healthy life. However, this is hampered by factors like lack of motivation, time and money.
Adding exercises into one’s daily routines can change their whole lifestyle. Many people look at exercise as being something just for people who want to lose weight or to become muscle bound, but there are a great deal of benefits that can be received from exercising regularly. Of course gaining muscle and losing fat are the two most popular reasons that usually attract people to the gym, but they make up a small part of the potential benefits that can be achieved with exercise. There are several ways in which I have benefited in my life from exercising regularly, besides just making me bigger and stronger. It has made me become more organized, helped me make better decisions, and motivated me to take on new challenges in life.
It even helps you test better according to a the Mayo Health Clinic’s statement: “Those who had exercised during the preceding month but not on the day of testing generally did better than those who had been sedentary, but did not perform nearly as well as those who had worked out that morning.” Another internal effect of working out is muscles receiving more blood, higher VO2 level, and helping maintain bone mass. The fitter a person is, the more efficiently their heart works therefore, blood pressure decreases and new healthy blood vessels form. Exercising expands a person’s life cycle because the more someone workouts, the healthier they are. Furthermore, the brain is one part that no one would think exercising has anything to do with, but it’s the main one that is affected. Exercising results in increased brain flow which helps the brain function more efficiently. Also, new brain cells are formed that help boost memory and learning. A number of neurotransmitters are triggered, these are what controls a person’s mood; this is how exercise prevents depression. Working out improves development of neurons, production of nerve protecting compounds, and can reverse brain and muscle decay. There are various positive internal effects that exercise has on people’s
Just like the phrase ‘an apple a day keeps the doctor away’ physical exercise can do the same. By exercising, your body becomes stronger and healthier. An active lifestyle provides a number of benefits. Evidence is growing that for most Americans, becoming physically active may be the single most important lifestyle change for promoting health and wellbeing. Exercise benefits a person’s overall wellness because it can reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease, strengthen bones and muscles, and improve mental health and mood.
