It is very common to talk about ecology of the world. But what does ecology mean? Ecology is the science which studies the relationship between all forms of life in our planet and the environment. Long time ago, in the ancient times people lived in harmony with the environment. They lived using what Earth gave them. Air to breathe, food to eat, water to drink, wood to build home, fuel to live warm, to heat his/her home. It seemed for people that the resources of nature had no limit. With the industrial revolution our negative influence on Earth's nature began to increase. Nowadays there are a lot of large cities that have thousands of steaming, polluting plants, and factories. What people do now, is polluting the air we breathe, the water we …show more content…
The issues and prospects of the blue planet engage not just researcher and futurologists, additionally legislators, industry, people in general – or more all, young people! There is scarcely a young person who is not saved with the safeguarding of our common living space. To recognize environmental problems and master them, to reduce and avoid environmental pollution, to discover and develop ecologically sound technologies – there are the essential building blocks for our future. Whether scientist or politicians, bankers or student, whether Greek, Norwegian, Hungarian or Finn … all are urged to make a commitment towards securing nature. Commitment and the bravery to change one's method for speculation are called for. We are to stop pollution. In this way, we can develop plants and trees, to clean waste, to begin dire fights keeping in mind the end goal to protect environment for instance, in 1989 in Australia, Sydney. In a year the same sort of activity was held all over Australia and it was rung "Clean Australia" the following years 110 countries hold the similar actions within the ecological program of the UNO. These days there are a wide range of weight and diversions assembles in many countries, which attempt to discover answers for the issues of pollution at the national and universal level. So they are groups of people who are trying to draw the public attention to environment problems, to influence the government
It is difficult for humans to live in harmony with nature because humans’ selfishness always places profits before our earth’s needs. We live in a consumer society, which we purchase interesting products and dispose of them carelessly. Those products with non-decomposable materials, which make our life easier and more comfortable, result a massive damage to our environment. In the articles, “A Fable for Tomorrow” by Rachel Carson and “Our Animals Rite” by Anna Quindlen, both authors suggest destruction in nature world due to human’s activities. As environment issues presented by scientists, governments around the world start to give highly attention on the environmental protection, but there are many challenges in implementing environmental protection policies. Some of the top environmental concerns are air pollution, climate changing and trash waste. Although people started to aware the horrible consequences due to polluted environment, an efficient life, people apathy toward ecosystem and human's unlimited desires for a confortable life have created obstacles for the world to protect the environment.
It has become a matter of urgency to balance the issues of development and environment so that the current generation hands over the earth to their future generation without any further damage to the environment. The development process of any kind should always be sustainable.
If we don’t cherish what the Mother Nature gave us, the whole world would be like the setting of the movie “Soylent Green” which we will all be suffering in the future that consists of overpopulation, exhausted natural resources, pollution and global warming due to the greenhouse effect. But there is an exception if we could use the nature resources properly with an appreciative attitude and appropriate means to make the practices as harmless as possible for the earth, then we might be able to create a harmonious environment which can protect the nature and also satisfied our
As our culture develops, we gradually realize that we have to find a sustainable way of living so that we can protect our race as well as all other races on the planet. Industrialized countries and some developing countries are continuously researching new technology in order to be more environmentally friendly.
When asked to consider the term ecology I have to look at what that word is defined as being. The dictionary defines it as, “The branch of biology that deals with the relations of organisms to one another and to their physical surroundings” (online dictionary, 2013). This is a very short definition for something that is comprised of so much once you start thinking about how many things affect an organisms physical surroundings. For this, I will be focusing on energy and chemical cycles, community structure, biodiversity and succession, and how all of these items are a part of ecology.
As it is commonly stated, an environmentally active student from the University of Connecticut-Stamford comments, “The first step toward solving a problem is admitting there is one” (Lanslots). In the area of environmental awareness, the solution must be executed on both an individual and a corporate level. Aldo Leopold states, “A conservationist is one who is humbly aware that with each stroke he is writing his signature on the face of the land” (73). Similarly we must realize that every action we take has an intended or unintended consequence upon our earth. Each step towards the conservation effort adds a signature to the plea to save our earth. As an up and coming chemistry scholar, it is important to raise awareness of the state of our environment and to recognize the strategies that can be taken as a member of a university, a citizen of the United States, and a future member of the corporate world to ensure a better environment and maintain resources for the future generations to live in this land.

Ecology, or in Greek translation "study home", is the study of the interactions of organisms between it's enviornment. While biosphere means the whole worlds ecosystem. Why are these terms so important? The reason why they are important to everything on Earth because they hold and shape all organisms that live within them. Without organisms animals, plants, and everything that we know would never be able to survive. If ecology wasn't organized and delicate, the system wouldn't be the same to the environment or to the organisms that are and were here today. Evolution, Extiction, and the formation of new species would have not taken place without ecology and all of it's many factors that are applied to the organisms and the environment. The Biosphere connects to mostly everything here on Earth and is very important in order to sustain photosynthesis, decomposition, nitrogen fixation, and many other cycles.
Environmental issues expand into a global level, and it is not likely tackled by the country itself. A raising awareness on the environmental matter among nations, the cooperation between nations is essential. In the three articles, they have adopted different approaches to address the environmental issues. However, three of them view the problem not only in signal angle, either with inter – discipline or multi – level perspective. The authors of the three essays have indicated governments play an important role for managing those
The modern day environmental movement in the United States has been a significant social movement for decades. It is quite possibly one of the longest running and more complex social movements the US has seen. The fight for a clean and safe environment has been an ongoing struggle. It encompasses multiple layers including the sustainability movement, environmental justice, and conservation movement. It is not just only a social movement but also a scientific and political movement as well. While my focus is on the United States this is a movement on an international scale with support on all levels from large organizations to private citizens.
The INDC report which has been taken up by a many countries, in collaboration with the UNFCCC, states that these countries have noticed a threat to the environment and are trying on their behalf to take up few initiatives to protect our environment, like reduction of carbon emission, energy conservation and other “go-green” initiatives.
Efforts to improve the standard of living for humans--through the control of nature and the development of new products--have also resulted in the pollution, or contamination, of the environment. Much of the world's air, water, and land is now partially poisoned by chemical wastes. Some places have become uninhabitable. This pollution exposes people all around the globe to new risks from disease. Many species of plants and animals have become endangered or are now extinct. As a result of these developments, governments have passed laws to limit or reverse the threat of environmental pollution.
This persuasive speech was given in Rio de Janeiro, and was a plea to the individuals in attendance at the United Nations Earth Summit to recognize how they are contaminating the environment with hopes that these audience members will revise their future proposals.
Our planet is suffering from severe pollution, which ranges from contaminated air, water and soil as well. Humans are doing nothing to reduce the amount of pollution that is harming our earth. To understand how pollution works first you must understand that there are different types of pollution. The most common types of pollution and the ones that I will be focusing on which are the ones doing the most harm to our planet are air pollution, water pollution, soil contamination and littering. In order to help out and reduce pollution in our planet people need to be more aware of what these problems are and about the severe damages that they are causing our planet. Before industrialization really jumped into place and had an effect on large cities, nature had its own way of cleaning up its own air and itself. Wind scattered gases, rain washed many substances and the rest dissolved into the ground; while plants absorbed carbon dioxide and made it into oxygen. With big cities growing more every time and with more towns that were becoming more industrialized a lot of more waste began to be released into the environment and the atmosphere and soon this was more than enough for nature to handle. In order to stop and reduce pollution people need to understand the damage that it is causing our environment and our planet as well. People need to be more aware of how they can help out and do their part in reducing these problems that are causing our planet to die slowly with people not even noticing it.
